Patterson was born to Bishop William Archie 'W. A.' (1898–1991) and Mary Louise Williams Patterson (1901–1981) in the parsonage next door to the Church of God in Christ in Humboldt, Tennessee and is the youngest of six children. Growing up on Orleans street in the Lauderdale Sub neighborhood of Memphis, he confessed Christ as his Savior at 11 years old at Holy Temple COGIC. Holy Temple COGIC was founded by his father. Later he moved with his family to Detroit, where his father pastored a second church New Jerusalem COGIC. He answered his call to ministry in 1956 while he was only 16 years old at New Jerusalem.
Bishop J. S. Bailey ordained him in 1958 as an elder in the Church of God in Christ. In 1962, Patterson became co-pastor with his father at Holy Temple Church of God in Christ in Memphis. Patterson continued his pastorate in 1975 as the founder and pastor of Temple of Deliverance, the Cathedral of the Bountiful Blessings near downtown.
Patterson founded the rapidly growing Bountiful Blessings Ministries (BBM) which is viewed internationally on The Word Network weekly, as well as on local TV stations throughout the nation.
This week on SOTT Talk Radio we're joined again by William Patrick Patterson. Listeners can hear the first part of our interview with Mr. Patterson here. After many years as a student of The Fourth Way and discovering no answer to the question that had gradually formed in him—what is the 'self' in self-remembering?—Mr. Patterson was called to explore Advaita Vedanta (non-dualism). In doing so, he realized the full significance of the ideas and practices of The Fourth Way and how this sacred and seminal teaching provided not only the necessary foundation, but was applicable on the very highest levels.
Mr. Patterson is the founder/director of The Gurdjieff Studies Program and has led groups, as well as given seminars and talks, throughout the United States for many years. He has written nine books on the teaching, including Struggle of the Magicians, and has directed, written and narrated the award-winning video trilogy The Life & Significance of George Ivanovitch Gurdjieff, and the just-released video Introduction to Gurdjieff's Fourth Way: From Selves to Individual Self to The Self. Mr. Patterson's latest book is Georgi Ivanovitch Gurdjieff: The Man, The Teaching, His Mission.

The House today passed an omnibus spending bill that fully funds Obamacare, increases funding for the fight against cimate change, and funds for Obama's amnesty program -- all without the consent of the vast majority of Americans. What can be done about this kind of action by Washington? Lloyd Sloan and Keith Carmichael will join us tonight to discuss the possibilities. We, the People, will take our government back! How we do this and what needs to be done next will be the hot topics of discussion. There are several items of breaking news on this front and we'll bring them to to the center ring.
Join us live at 7PM Missouri Time. You may call and participate at 347-677-1835. It's YOUR government, not theirs. Be here to help us take it back.

NOTE: THERE IS A 1 MINUTE DELAY AFTER OPENING COMMERCIAL ENDS AND PROGRAM BEGINS. Keith Mitchell, a former Pro Bowl linebacker with the New Orleans Saints, talks about his journey from NFL star to a popular yoga and meditation teacher. At a New York yoga festival Mitchell reflected on his transformation. “That’s so different from where I’ve come from because normally when I’d journey to the East Coast and New York City I would not be bringing peace typically. We would come here to beat up on the New York Giants and New York Jets.”
While it may seem strange to see a retired NFL veteran leading an outdoor yoga festival, Mitchell’s journey to his current profession as a certified yoga and meditation instructor actually started with a very scary moment on the football field in 2003. In a Week Two game versus the Buffalo Bills, Mitchell, then playing for the Jacksonville Jaguars, ended up suffering a serious injury when making a tackle.
While he tried to briefly return to the field after the injury, Mitchell’s NFL career was done. Now living in Los Angeles, Mitchell gravitated to yoga and meditation more and more over the past decade as he sought a way to make peace with the physical and mental consequences of no longer being a football player.
“Unless you create a system of healing or working through it, it just gets bigger and bigger and it grows and manifests. The family that person gets involved with or the kids they have, they suffer.” Join us for Keith's triumphant story.
