Tonight Bonnie Kaye welcomes Lorraine Pestell, author of the six part serialized book "A Life Singular." Lorraine was born in London and has had a successful career as an Information Technology professional in the UK, US, Europe, Singapore, and more recently Australia. She currently resides in Melbourne, Victoria.
Although working full-time, Lorraine is a passionate volunteer for several organizations, including serving on the Boards of non-profit organizations, being a mentor for The Smith Family's iTrack program and providing project management assistance to The School Volunteer Program. She finds that volunteering time and energy to those less fortunate is an effective antidote to life-long depression and the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.
The idea for "A Life Singular" originated when Lorraine was 14 years old, and the story has continued to develop since then. However, three years ago, a new element of the plot triggered a sudden urge to complete the novel, and since then the story has evolved into six separate parts. The book tells the story of a successful celebrity writing his autobiography after the tragic loss of his wife.
In essence a love story, the central themes of the "A Life Singular" serial are triumph over mental illness, the choices we make between right and wrong, the relentless passage of time and how each affects the other. Some of life's lessons are harder to learn, and some amazing opportunities easier to take. The trick is always to understand the consequences of our choices, before it's too late...
This is a program for independent authors who are part of the Books of Excellence Coop. Other independent authors are welcomed as time allows.

Carrboro, NC – Dr. Milton Trager once said, “There is a way of being which is lighter, which is freer. A way in which work as well as play becomes a dance and living a song. We can learn this way."
Lorraine Lewis is a healing facilitation practitioner and the founder of Peaceful Connection, where she supports individuals in reconnecting and aligning with their divine nature to create a more fulfilling, joyful life.
“My passion in life is creating greater ease and flow in my own life and supporting others in that as well,” says Lorraine. “The sessions I facilitate are about accessing one's essence, feeling peaceful in the present moment, and having an easier, more graceful, flowing feeling state with which to dance through life."
One such tool is the Trager® Approach, an innovative form of body work and movement reeducation. In his teens, Dr. Trager and his brother would go to the beach where they would compete to see who could jump the highest or the furthest. One day, Dr. Trager said, “Let’s see who can land the softest.” He would later develop these movements to create the Trager® Approach.
“I would describe a Trager® session as feeling like you’ve been on vacation for a week,” explains Lorraine. “You’re feeling the tissue and inviting it to have a different quality and texture: softer, more fluid.”
Dr. Trager believed our worries and anxieties and stress obstruct us from the source energy. If we can connect to this life force, we reach a state of peaceful connectedness.
“We’re spiritual beings having a human experience," says Lorraine. "If we can connect with our true nature and see life from a broader perspective, we can navigate our way through life with less stress and more ease.”
