Tonight Bonnie Kaye welcomes Lily Temperley who has written her first novel "Fix: Sex, Lies, and Banking." Lily has recently relocated to an exotic location after spending 15 years in England where she worked in banking.

The basis for her first book (and subsequent two books in their planning stages) is her own life experience. She's grown up in an investment bank. She's had jobs working in the executive suites of two of Britain's largest firms, and has seen both these companies handle catastrophes on a global stage. Interwoven with that, she had an intimate relationship with a very senior executive, providing a real life romantic angle to the corporate setting.

Tonight Bonnie Kaye welcomes Lorraine Pestell, author of the six part serialized book "A Life Singular." Lorraine was born in London and has had a successful career as an Information Technology professional in the UK, US, Europe, Singapore, and more recently Australia.  She currently resides in Melbourne, Victoria.

Although working full-time, Lorraine is a passionate volunteer for several organizations, including serving on the Boards of non-profit organizations, being a mentor for The Smith Family's iTrack program and providing project management assistance to The School Volunteer Program.  She finds that volunteering time and energy to those less fortunate is an effective antidote to life-long depression and the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

The idea for "A Life Singular" originated when Lorraine was 14 years old, and the story has continued to develop since then.  However, three years ago, a new element of the plot triggered a sudden urge to complete the novel, and since then the story has evolved into six separate parts. The book tells the story of a successful celebrity writing his autobiography after the tragic loss of his wife.

In essence a love story, the central themes of the "A Life Singular"  serial are triumph over mental illness, the choices we make between right and wrong, the relentless passage of time and how each affects the other.  Some of life's lessons are harder to learn, and some amazing opportunities easier to take.  The trick is always to understand the consequences of our choices, before it's too late...

Bonnie Kaye welcomes author Michelle Manning who authored the book Siding With Plato. She was raised in Valencia, California and is a graduate of Arizona State University where she majored in journalism. She worked in the fields of public relations, marketing, social media, and finally to entertainment news.

Siding With Plato is a romantic laugh-out-loud chick lit novel about being young, beautiful, and a seriously hot mess! Brooke Aarons can't get to college fast enough. Leaving behind her small town life, she intends to transform herself into a brilliant psychologist at the University of Texas, with no distractions to slow her down. But when she finds herself on a double date with the school's notorious playboy - and worse, enjoying it - Brooke has to wonder if she's the one who needs her head examined. James Cartwright's overly glorified jock status, endless bucks, and long line of willing girls should make him a non-starter for Brooke, but as she learns, the psychology behind a bad crush is a whole lot messier of a subject. Maybe Plato was right. Maybe love is a serious mental disease . . . If so there better be a cure before Brooke gets herself in too deep.

Bonnie Kaye welcomes author Elizabeth Upton who is originally from Los Angeles, California. She is the author of Secrets of a Nun: My Own Story, which was first published in the 1980s and will be re-released later this year. She earned both a B.A. and an M.A. in Abnormal Psychology from Syracuse University and Chapman University and has worked as a family counselor, social worker and probation officer specializing in troubled teens and abused children, for over thirty years. She and her husband live in Santa Barbara, California.

The Shaman and the Mafia, Elizabeth Upton’s thrilling debut novel, explores themes of devotion, loyalty, guilt and faith as three unlikely allies must work together to solve the murder of their friend. Like Marietta, Upton joined a convent as a young woman. Her decision to become a nun was inspired by her very difficult childhood, which involved two years in an orphanage where she witnessed the suffering of many other children. Determined to live a life of service and help others, the convent seemed an obvious option, until certain factors, including a forbidden love affair and many conflicting emotions about spirituality, drove her from the convent and into a new life helping children and teens who were abused or struggling with drugs. Upton artfully draws upon her eclectic life experiences, as well as her years studying mysticism, reincarnation and spirituality, to excellent effect in The Shaman and the Mafia.

Tonight Bonnie Kaye welcomes author Michael McGranahan, who has written the book Silver Kings & Sons of Bitches.

Michael McGranahan was born and raised in San Diego. He holds degrees in geology and geophysics and worked for ten years in oil and gas exploration; six of those years were in San Francisco where he fell in love with the City by the Bay. He is married and has two children, and currently divides his time between Modesto (where he maintains a bankruptcy trustee practice) and Santa Cruz, California. He enjoys rock climbing in Yosemite, surfing in Santa Cruz, and going to Giants games with his wife. His love of history, and training in the sciences, has perhaps given him the ideal background for this story about a banker, an engineer, and the silver mines of the Comstock Lode. Silver Kings & Sons of Bitches is his first novel; he is at work on his second historical novel, set in Shakespearian England.

His book is based on the true story of a man who sacrificed everything for a city - San Francisco - and his dream that it would one day be the most beautiful city in the world....and all for the love of a woman. The year is 1854 and William Ralston’s fiancée has just died. She, the granddaughter of Cornelius Vanderbilt, was to help Ralston transform the squalid gold rush town into a beautiful, modern city; now, alone, he will take up the quest in her memory. When the Comstock Lode is discovered, the dream seems suddenly plausible: Ralston, a banker, will funnel the wealth of the silver mines into his fledgling city - build magnificent  theaters, hotels, museums, and finance businesses.

Jessalyn Ohhlson is a prostitute who bears an uncanny resemblance to Ralston's deceased fiancée. Ralston finds her irresistible, and they begin a torrid affair. What happens next will surprise you!

Bonnie Kaye welcomes back author Tim Smith, an award-winning bestselling author. His books range from romantic mystery/thriller to contemporary erotic romance. He is also a freelance photographer. When he isn't pursuing those two careers he can often be found in The Florida Keys, indulging his passion for parasailing between research and seeking out the perfect Pina Colada or Mojito!

Tonight Tim will talk about his newly launched book “The Dirty Blonde – Vic Fallon Book 3.” This is a noir-ish crime caper in the style of Chandler, Westlake and Parker but in a contemporary setting. All of the elements are here – tough wisecracking private eye hero with a soft spot for the ladies, a femme fatale client who may or may not be telling the whole truth, some shady supporting characters, vivid atmosphere and snappy dialogue filled with sexual tension

In Smith's words, “Former cop Vic Fallon is content to live in Sandusky, Ohio on his disability settlement and take the occasional private eye job when he isn’t fishing. He doesn't really want to get involved in a missing persons case, but when Amy Bergen arrives from Tennessee looking for her estranged husband who’s avoiding divorce court, Vic is taken in by her southern charm and agrees to help her. His search brings him in contact with a local gangster wannabe, a crooked cop and a gambling syndicate. When another woman shows up claiming to be the missing man’s wife, the case takes a bizarre turn. Can Vic find the wayward husband before all of his wives catch up with him? Will his feelings for Amy develop into something more than professional?”
