    Let's examine how our nutrition choices affect our body composition and how our body is truly a reflection of our lifestyle. How can our choices when it comes to our meals and snacks positively or negatively affect our body composition? Are there changes we can make on a daily basis in order to get the results we desire?

    Shift Focus: Fuel It Up (don't work it off)

     Notice a lot of the verbiage from individuals around the holidays. You may hear things such as, "I ate way too many cookies last night; I have to work it off today." Or something like, "I know I'm going to overeat/drink during the holidays, so, I better make sure I work it off." If an individual is looking to achieve their health, fitness and body composition goals, they have to change the focus from "work it off" to the focus of, "fuel it up."


     When we have the "work it off" mindset, we are simply trying to right a wrong and this will backfire each and every time. We want to shift our focus to fueling the body properly, even if we did slip up and consume far too many solid and/or liquid calories during the holiday parties.
