William Steinke - Lance Coporal 6:15pm
William E. Steinke. I am a Lance Corporal in the United States Marine stationed at Twenty-nine Palms
California. I am contacting you today because I am gravelly concerned my civil rights as an African American are being violated. The issue arose around a year ago when I was accused of sexual assault.
The allegation I faced was worrisome but I had faith in the judicial system. Shortly after being accused I was transferred, for medical reasons, to a unit called P.A.D (Personnel Awaiting Disposition). One day while
walking to my room I was stopped by military police and asked if I was willing to give permission to have my room searched. I, along with my other two roommates all agreed. We waited around for them to finish then I found myself being handcuffed and taken in for questioning. Before I realized
what had happened I had been sent to the Brig (Military Prison).
