Natalie Christine Johnson is one of Hollywood South’s most in-demand makeup artists. With a background in Psychology and a degree in fine arts from the University of New Orleans, Johnson began her career with M.A.C. because a fellow makeup artist happened to like the way she did her makeup when she happened upon her while working in a mall. Natalie used any kind of canvas she could get her hands on and realized that a face was just another medium. She quickly made the move into film and television. With almost 50 productions under her belt in the past 3 years, Johnson has worked on everything from big budget feature films such as the widely popular Left Behind series with Nicolas Cage, to music videos, network and reality TV, and the Sundance darling Sex, Guaranteed where she met and worked with Stephen Dorff. After working together on that project he later asked her to be his personal makeup artist for their next project together, The American Hero. Her commercial work ranges from local universities to clients like McDonald’s, Wal-Mart, Visa and the NFL. Expanding from beauty to special effects makeup, Johnson has worked for the last three years as a makeup department head and creative consultant for the independent and festival award winning production company, Little to N.O. Budget Films. Working closely with the director and writers, her vision helped develop worlds of zombies, ghosts, and surreal carnivals. She recently worked on the projects Abattoir and Cold Moon. It was in December 1959 that Alvin Lee Johnson (born June 20, 1939) entered Cosimo Matassa’s recording studio. He emerged from the studio on Governor Nicholls Street with what would be a belated hit song and a new name, Al “Carnival Time” Johnson. Joe Ruffino produced the recording session for his Ric label and Carnival Time eventually joined Professor Longhair’s Go to the Mardi Gras and Big Chief, and the Hawkettes’ Mardi Gras Mambo as classics of the New Orleans Mardi Gras.
Johnson, like so many New Orleans musicians, grew up in the city’s Ninth Ward where he played trumpet and piano. Born in 1939, he was influenced early on by Sugar Boy Crawford, Fats Domino, and Smiley Lewis.
Alvin Johnson, best known for his famous song, "Carnival Time," has been a New Orleans Mardi Gras icon for over 40 years. A Rhythm & Blues performer, Al is a New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival veteran and has worked with the likes of Aaron Neville, Oliver Morgan, Bobby Lonero as well as (the late Tommy Ridgley, Jessie Hill, Bobby Mitchell, Eddie Bo & Ernie K-Doe)
Al has performed on the "Louisiana Jukebox" TV program and been the star of a highly successful Louisiana Lottery Mardi Gras campaign. Al has also been the subject of numerous articles in Mardi Gras Guide, New Orleans Magazine, Offbeat Magazine, The Louisiana Weekly, The Times Picayune, and Gambit Weekly.
Also on the show, we have an amazing local New Orleans team...."Dave and Rose"...these fine local musicians will share their music and perspective regarding the 10 years after Katrina... Please join us for a fest of great music and perspective from NOLA musicians...

Because of years of oppression, racism, discrimination and a clear and blatant government/media agenda…there’s been a huge focus that’s been put on race relations in America and specifically in the black community as of late… So much so, that there’s been a significant decrease in attention being put on the church and upholding the teachings of Jesus Christ. “The Dedan Tolbert Show” returns LIVE TONIGHT at 9:00pm EST for our annual Post Memorial Day Ask Dedan Advice Special on “Race vs Religion”, where we’ll discuss the recent remarks by Dr. Umar Johnson encouraging our youth to engage in violent behavior, put race first and religion second and many other controversial statements. To hear answers to many other “Ask Dedan” topics such as: appropriate styles of dress for Christian women, couples tithing in a marriage and MANY others, call 646 200 0366 or listen LIVE online worldwide at www.dedantolbertshow.com... “REAL Radio that Matters for over 10 Years” #RRTM

From Insanity to Sane featuring Ms. Tonier Cain to the platform for an heartfelt interview like no other interview I had covered in my career. Please tune in May 28, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. CST. To be apart of the listening audience please dial (323) 693- 3830 if at anytime you wish to speak with the host please dial 1.
Ms. Tonier Cain a woman who had 83 arrests, 66 convictions, and thousands of requests to serve as the keynote speaker in front of audiences that include the United Nations, government agencies, teachers, community and civic organizations, mental health agencies, substance abuse programs, corrections facilities and trauma survivors. Featured in the documentary “Behind Closed Doors: Trauma Survivors and the Psychiatric System,” and the subject of the award winning film “Healing Neen.”
After surviving a childhood of unspeakable sexual abuse, unrelenting violence, and betrayal by systems that were charged with helping, Ms. Tonier Cain stands before her audiences today, a testimony to the resiliency of the human spirit exemplifying the innate human instinct to survive.
Tonier “Neen” Cain lived on the streets for twenty nightmarish years.
Years filled with hunger, brutality and a lifestyle when described seems unconscionable. Incarcerated and pregnant in 2004, someone finally took the time to ask: “what happened to you” instead of “what’s wrong with you.” It is at that moment she began her journey to become a survivor and for the first time in her life began to live in freedom. Be blessed and encouraged. Remember God loves you with an everlasting love.
