Stories for Children Show with Author LeeAnna Kail

    in Youth

Author LeeAnna Kail on Blog Talk Radio’s  Featured World of Ink Network show:
    Stories for Children - August 12, 2013
Host Virginia S Grenier will be chatting with Debut Author LeeAnna Kail about her recently released children's picture book, The Owl WHO Couldn't WHOO published by Halo Publishing, Int.
About the Book: Ollie is known for one thing in his village: he is the only owl who cannot “WHOO.” The other owls tease him for saying “WHEERE!” or “WHEEN!” or “WHYY!” and sometimes “WHAAT!” All Ollie wants is to fit in, but when his little sister gets lost in the woods, Ollie discovers he can help.
Join Ollie on his adventure in searching for his sister and learning the significance of being different.
About the author: Ever since LeeAnna Kail was little, she had an interest in writing. In fact, when she was in the fourth grade, she completed a career project and dressed as an author with dreams of writing her own book one day. LeeAnna attended Duquesne University with a double major in political science and English with intentions of attending law school after graduation. While studying abroad in Rome, Italy, LeeAnna had a change of heart and decided to continue her education at Duquesne studying elementary education instead. She knew she found her niche the first day of class. Inspired by an assignment from a children’s literature course, LeeAnna's dream of writing a book has come true.
LeeAnna currently teaches in Pittsburgh and hopes to be an inspiration to her students to follow their dreams.

Missing way too long ~ Alivia Christine Kail

    in Education

Join me tonight as I talk again with Alivia's mom, Christine DiDiano.

Alivia was last seen leaving her brother's home in the 500 block of Edgewood Avenue in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania on March 4, 2011 with her boyfriend, Alexander P. Lorenzi. They told people they were going to go to Florida. They left in a red Ford Explorer with a Pittsburgh Steelers sticker on it. Alivia had some clothing packed in a couple of bags and she said she did not have to "pay for anything" on this trip. Alivia has never been since.

Alivia's phone has been shut off since March 5, and there is no proof to say she ever arrived in Florida. Lorenzi reappeared in Pittsburgh on March 16. He gave several different stories about where Alivia is, even saying at one time that she was still in Florida, and another time saying he dropped her off at her home in Mount Washington, PA.

Alivia was reported missing on March 19, 2011.

Alivia's family & friends describe her as a normal, happy teenager.

Even with no hard evidence of foul play, Alivia's disappearance is uncharacteristic behaviour for her to leave without warning and her loved ones are concerned for her.

RECENT NEWS: Police believe that Alivia is the victim of human trafficking.

Police ~ January 15, 2013: Alivia Kail may be alive in human trafficking: http://www.wtae.com/news/local/allegheny/Police-Alivia-Kail-may-be-alive-in-hum

Join hosts VS Grenier & Marsha Casper (our guest host) as they chat with debute children's author Elizabeth Kail Arnita about her Chirstian Children's Picture Book, BABY COME HOME published by Halo Publishing Int.
“Baby Come Home” is a story of the young bird, “Baby”, who learns the value of unconditional love and acceptance after he decides to break free from the confinement of his cage and those who love him most. The story gives children a different perspective on rules and why we need to obey them while also offering a teaching on the unconditional love our perfect God has for His imperfect people.

    ISBN:  978-1-61244-087-3
Elizabeth Arnita is the youngest of 12 children. She learned early in life about family dynamics and the concept of sharing. After graduating in 1983, with a degree in Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, Elizabeth married Shadi and they have been blessed with four fabulous children. Her love for the Lord has opened her eyes to a world in need and ignited her compassion for those who are less fortunate. She and her husband founded and continue to manage Welcome The Children; a non-profit organization that funds and supports children who are experiencing the reality of poverty.
