Close-Up TalkRadio spotlight Ruth Kuttler: Rebranding Poetry

    in Poetry

Naples, FL -- A gifted poet, author, speaker and graphic artist, Ruth Kuttler was inspired to write heartfelt and empowering poetry during a crisis in her life. “Poetry transformed my life more than 12 years ago. In my poetry, I was compelled to let go of the status quo that kept me imprisoned in a life where I was miserable," says Ruth. "When I put pen to paper, ideas outside of my conscious awareness empowered me to listen to my heart and to live my dreams.” Ruth felt compelled to share her poetry. Even those who said they “didn’t like poetry” had tears in their eyes as they heard Ruth’s uplifting heartfelt verses, expressing sentiments like “that was exactly what I needed to hear,” “You just told my story,” and one woman said “I have six of your poems on my refrigerator and I read them every day.” Ruth came to realize that the word 'poetry' had a negative connotation among many people who told her she should call her work something else. This inspired her vision for rekindling a dying art through rebranding Poetry. This revolutionary movement will make people of all ages realize that they already Love Poetry – words in song lyrics, rap and greeting card verse that they feel deeply in their heart and soul, is poetry. It is poetry that inspires them, entertains them and in some cases, moves them to think and act differently. Ruth sees this movement that she calls “Poetry for the People” a life changing opportunity for children and adults to access their highest and most creative mind - where possibilities emerge for turning dreams into action. This is for anyone who has a poem in their hearts.
Ruth says, “By defining a new genre of contemporary poetry that masses of people can relate to, poetry can become wildly popular once again.”

Part 2: Close-Up Talk Radio spotlights poet Ruth Kuttler

    in Poetry

Naples, FL – It’s been said, "True poets don't write their thoughts with a pen. They release the ink that flows from within their hearts." At its very best, poetry can activate the simple ideas we know in our hearts to be true. If a poet can articulate those ideas, their words can melt the hardest of hearts.
Ruth Kuttler is the author of the wildly popular Visions in Verse, an illustrated collection of poems, quotes, inspirational writings and stories inviting readers to consider new possibilities and embark on a journey of self-discovery. Published in 2005, Visions in Verse’s inspirational messages encourage readers to change their life by listening to their heart.
“Writing poetry empowered me to let go of fear and to follow my dreams,” says Kuttler. “Visions in Verse gives people permission to dream and dare to live those dreams. If you live life with passion you will attract opportunities."
Kuttler’s inspiration for Visions in Verse was borne out of a career crisis. A former nurse practitioner, her passion for poetry ultimately lead to a total life transformation and career as an artist and motivational speaker.
“I was looking for who I really was and what I was put on earth to do,” recalls Kuttler. “I started to write and something truly amazing happened: all these ideas poured out of me onto the paper. It empowered me to let go of what wasn’t working in my life and go for what was.”
Recently, Kuttler decided to illustrate some of her more popular poems and make them available as artwork. Fans of Kuttler’s poetry can purchase these framed illustrated poems through her website http://www.visionsinverse.com.
“This comes from my heart,” says Kuttler. “It’s something inside me but it’s all about helping someone else.”
