The initial connection that I had with Javier Colon was through Matt Cusson. Matt is another of those supremely talented singer/songwriters who partnered with Javier a long time ago. Dig through some You Tube videos and feast your ears :)
Fast forward to the debut of "The Voice" and you probably remember the excitement of everyone associated with it. Nobody more than Javier Colon. He had been through some record label wars and had suffered strong disappointment - but he never gave up that his dream would come true. And it DID - he was the first WINNER on this still wildly popular show. Matter-of-fact, Javier just visited his pals - one of them still remains a golf buddy, Adam Levine.
We're focusing on this amazing talent for two reasons: one is that he has a new album called "Gravity." It means a lot to Javier because his new label, Concord, gave him serious creative control - which he has hankered to have for quite some time. Another reason for our visit is because he is coming to Ram's Head in Annapolis in early May - so we're having our get-together just before then: perfect!
This is a breathtaking artist, full of passion and energy and nuance. His tracks on "Gravity" will leave you craving intimate moments and truths told in the dark. See what he does to your radio host here? ;) Don't take my word for the effect that Javier Colon has - ask Stevie Nicks or Darius Rucker or the Indigo Girls - or even Derek Trucks, with whom Javier spent many a mile on tour as vocalist. All of the above have worked with this beautiful soul and they KNOW how special his gift is. Going back to "The Voice" - do you remember when all four judges turned around during Javier's initial performance? That's a rarity But so is HE. You already know. See you on Javier's Birthday: 4/29!
Special Guest Toningt Ahmand Tinker
Coach Kenyatta Watson stressed the importance of developing relationships with colleges early in the life of a young athlete. He recommends attending college camps as early as freshman year. This strategy can often get an athlete noticed by college coaches by the junior year. Coach Watson couldn’t stress enough that it is not the job of your high school coach to get you recruited. Parents and their athletes have to begin early with the proper training, attending key camps, especially colleges of interest, building a social media presence and increasing their exposure to college coaches. He was joined by Coach Maolo Stewart of Ocular Sports and Coach Ahmad Tinkard from the Minority Coaches Association (MAC). Listen in for more details on how to increase your athlete’s visibility.
The Kenyatta Watson Show Every Thursday Night 8:0 PM EST
In one of the busiest boxing weekends of the year, Thaboxingvoice Radio show will discuss each major upcoming televised card which is led by the most anticipated fight of the weekend between welterweight fighters Victor Ortiz and Andre Berto, who will fight in a rematch of their April 2011 fight, live on FOX this Saturday.
Ortiz-Berto takes place at the StubHub Center in Carson, California with a fun undercard packed with interesting fights. In the co-feature, Edwin Rodriguez will look to continue the rejuvenation of his career at light heavyweight as he goes for his 5th straight win against the Maryland-born fighter Thomas Williams Jr. Also on the card, Fernando Montiel-Jorge Lara, Gerald Washington-Eddie Chambers, and Terrell Gausha-Orlando Lora.
Also taking place on Saturday, a ShowTime card featuring the four participants of a super middleweight tournament involving two of the division’s best fighters, titlists Badou Jack and James DeGale in separate bouts. Chris Pearson and Sharif Bogere make up the brighter spots of this undercard in separate bouts.
Before Saturday’s card, PBConSPIKE will televise a card featuring the Dirrell brothers. Anthony Dirrell headlines the card against Caleb Truax as his brother Andre Dirrell takes on Blake Caparello in the evening’s co-feature. Jonathan Guzman fights Daniel Rosas in a 12 round IBF junior featherweight eliminator on the undercard.

The Total Tutor Neil Haley and Rico Racosky will interview Hay House Author JB Glossinger. He is the author of The Sacred Six: The Simple, Step-by-Step Process for Focusing Your Attention & Recovering Your Dreams.
Ever wished you could break free of the rat race and pursue what really matters to you? JB Glossinger did just that, exchanging the golden handcuffs of corporate success for a three-hour workday and the freedom to golf, write, spend time with family, and guide others toward realizing their dreams. Now in The Sacred Six, JB offers readers the same simple but powerful tools he used to transform his own life. Practical exercises organized around core Sacred Six principles like focus, clarity, consistency, and prioritization provide support for developing “keystone” positive habits, eliminating blocks to success, and making life-changing decisions from the perspective of the Observer—the true self—rather than the ego.
