Suburban Republicans' assault on Milwaukee Public Schools.

    in Education

Last week Rep. Dale Kooyenga (R-Brookfield) and Sen. Alberta Darling (R-River Hills) decided that their vast experience as suburban Wisconsin legislators qualififed them to introduce a bill that would literally take away Milwaukee Public Schools from the people of Milwaukee.  Yes, they proposed a "public school take over bill."  These bills have been passed in many urban areas across the country and have been proven to simply be a private take over of urban poor and minority populated schools.  Later in the week it was announced that the bill was killed.  However, the movement to privatize urban public schools has been way too lucrative to just let die.  Instead of a bill, the Milwaukee School Take over Bill  has been simply slated to be passed as part of the state budget process—truly undermining the political and social capital of the citizens of Milwaukee.

Tonight's special episode will feature Milwaukee school board member, former teacher and editor of Rethinking Schools Larry Miller, Wisconsin Public Education Network's Heather DuBois Bourenane, and Angela McManaman, President of Parents for Public Schools-Milwaukee.

The Goddess Rising Network, The Black Church/Leaders And Their Role In Eugenic

Sanger shrewdly used the influence of prominent blacks to reach the masses with this message. She invited DuBois and a host of Harlem’s leading blacks, including physicians, social workers, ministers and journalists, to form an advisory council to help direct the clinic so that our work in birth control will be a constructive force in the community.22 She knew the importance of having black professionals on the advisory board and in the clinic; she knew blacks would instinctively suspect whites of wanting to decrease their numbers. She would later use this knowledge to implement the Negro Project.

Sanger convinced the community so well that Harlem’s largest black church, the Abyssinian Baptist Church, held a mass meeting featuring Sanger as the speaker.23 But that event received criticism. At least one very prominent minister of a denomination other than Baptist spoke out against Sanger. Dr. Adam Clayton Powell Sr., pastor of Abyssinian Baptist, received adverse criticism from the (unnamed) minister who was surprised that he’d allow that awful woman in his church

Grace Congregational Church hosted a debate on birth control. Proponents argued birth control was necessary to regulate births in proportion to the family’s income; spacing births would help mothers recover physically and fathers financially; physically strong and mentally sound babies would result; and incidences of communicable diseases would decrease .

Eventually, the Urban League took control of the clinic,26 an indication the black community had become ensnared in Sanger’s labyrinth.

To put this all in perspective, Logan Mohtashami will be returning to the broadcast sharing his thoughts on this important topic.  You can read his latest blog on this topic at http://loganmohtashami.com/ (Logan Mohtashami | Financial Truth ).  He has recently been challenging the assumptions and assertions of many housing experts.  Tune in to today's broadcast to hear Logan's latest housing market predictions, things you won't hear from other housing experts.
