SORT BY Relevancy
Americans have known for some time that all recent wars have been fought for the benefit of American and foreign energy corporations. Although few favor the continued subsidization of these fat cat industries, they have so far been willing to accept this in part because too few understand that we have a real alternative. This is the result of a massive propaganda campaign funded by the same Big Oil and natural gas corporate executives whose multimillion dollar salaries depend on the continuing belief that converting to renewable energy is just too expensive. If Americans knew the truth they would demand that the US government divert a portion of the billions of tax dollars given to these highly profitable industries to support technologies that would save money for every user of electricity while hedging our bets in the event that global climate change is human-caused.On Friday, May 10 Jon Roschke of Oregonians for Renewable Energy Progress (OREP) will join us to talk about the economic benefits of converting to consumer-owned renewable energy. Whatever yu believe about global climate instability, you will want to hear why we need to go green for the economy if not the environment. This show will be rebroadcast on May 11 at 9 AM PST/ 12 PM EST on the Star Com Radio network.Take Back America for the People is an educational nonprofit whose mission is to educate the American public on true costs of corporate control of the US government.Know the truth and the truth will set us free.
Recent government reports have highlighted the urgency of ending our dependence on fossil fuels. There are many steps that must be taken to free ourselves from a fossil fuels-based economy, from conservation to bridging strategies to creating an alternative economy that is based on environmentally sound practices and renewable energy.
Those who resist these changes claim the costs are too high. The truth is that many of the benefits are rarely talked about because maximizing the benefit to average people will require a sea change in politics.
Free energy, healthy organic foods, localized economies with fair trade for goods that cannot be produced locally are benefits beyond the obvious one of saving the environment our children will live in.
On Saturday, May 10 at 9 AM PST/ 12 PM EST we will talk with former Executive Director of Oregon Renewable Energy Project about how we will achieve energy independence not only from oil producing nations but from centralized private energy interests. He is now working with Kid Wind, an educational project to promote awareness among children of the possiblities of alternative energy and Organics to You, an organic farming cooperative in Portland that is promoting healthy, sustainable agricultural production and distribution.

“A Culture Is Born” The musical insight of Jon Locke, artist and CEO of Locke Music Group, emerges from lyrical melodies of deep emotions, passion, and desire born in the culture of soul. A culture of soul that Locke, a native of Chicago, says “doesn’t follow today’s trends” but searches to musical portray “who we are and what we do.” By tapping into the lifestyles of culture Locke’s brings a unique creativity of poetic rhythms for listeners’ pleasure and timeless remembrance.
“ You don’t need to be here, you need to be out there doing it.” – The words of Locke’s college professor are just a motivational driving force but a mission for his music production and new album “First Thoughts.” Trailblazing the summer of 2014 with the albums first release “Can’t Let It Go,” Locke introduces powerfully emotive guitar solos and erotically perceptive words to capture the craving and anticipation for an experience of love.
For Locke every collaboration and opportunity for production has played a pivotal role in his evolution as an artist and producer which lead him to start his own label in 2014. With the release of “First Thoughts” Locke Music Group is “getting out there and doing it” with meaningful music that will exceed the expectations of fans and new listeners to come.

Purchasing is not yet widely perceived as a premier league profession; certainly not when compared to, say, marketing, law, investment banking or entrepreneurship. But continued efforts by leading companies to exploit the power of effective purchasing have given Procurement a more important role in the corporate theatre.
The above statement was made by Sigi Osagie author of Procurement Mojo: Strengthening the Function and Raising It's Profile
What makes it interesting is the fact that there has been no shortage of discussions on procurement from the standpoint of its emerging strategic importance to the need for procurement professionals to finally get their seat at the executive table.
In yet another unique look into the rapidly changing world of procurement and what it means to not only those in the profession but business, I am pleased to welcome to the show Sigi Osagie.
Through compelling real-world stories, Lt. Col. Rob "Waldo" Waldman relates how his Air Force wingmen helped him overcome challenges and become successful by teaching him lessons that work in an office as well as in a cockpit.
In and of itself, the above excerpt would provide a more than compelling reason to buy Lt. Col. Waldman's book Never Fly Solo. Especially given the fact that the first accolade for his book was from the Pit Bull of Personal Development himself Larry Winget. Larry, who has you already know, has been a guest on my show several times tells it like it is, so if he likes it - it has to be good!
However, and beyond the above, I actually had the opportunity to not only hear Rob speak at the recent Virginia 2014 Forum, I had the privilege to meet him in person and share some time over lunch.
While I was obviously impressed with the purpose and integrity of his message, it was the accessibility to his personal story that resonated most.
Joining me today to talk about why it is important to never fly solo is Lt. Col. Rob "Waldo" Waldman.
