Make it a Memorial Day to Remember

    in Comedy

It's Memorial Day weekend y'all and it's time to get all somber and reflect on all those who gave all for this great country. They are the best America has to offer and IWS Radio truly thanks them for their sacrifice. Unlike the NFL we don't even have to get paid by the Pentagon celebrate America's veterans.

Memorial Day is also a great time to get some good deals on mattresses, sofas, cars, summer clothes and all kinds of other items you didn't even know you needed. What better way to honor America's fallen soldiers than by going out and buying stuff probably made in Asia and putting it on your credit card or financing it? We can't think of any either. That's what America is all about!

And it's the unofficial kickoff to summer! So get those grills out and clean 'em up so you can cook your hot dogs, brats and hamburgers. Matt and Jay might have some grilling tips for patriotic Americans looking to honor veterans who died in defense of this great country by getting drunk and chowing down on fatty foods.

Canadian Bureau Chief Jamie Mapleleaf and the IWS Players will be here too. No telling what they've been up to this week, but we're sure it's something brilliant and appropriate for the occasion. Plus we lost David Letterman this week and Matt and Jay are devastated. They'll talk about their favorite memories of their friend and colleague and his life. All this plus YOUR CALLS at 661.244.9852! Do it for America!!!

If, America is powerless then why do Americans offend you?

    in Politics Conservative

This most recent display of anti-American anger reminded me that there are many people in the world who hate America. They don’t just hate America; they hate anything and everything having to do with us. So much so that some would be willing to blow themselves up if they were given the chance to take a few of us with them. If that isn’t hate, I don’t really know what is.

The haters disagree with our culture and believe that we’re avaricious little brats who are completely undeserving of possessing the world’s most powerful country.

Naturally, the amount of animosity felt towards the U.S. ranges from simple dislike (as can be found in France), to the more intense and deep-seated loathing (such as in the Middle East). But why do they hate us so much?

    Our Culture

American culture why people hate America This reason mainly applies to the Middle East, but there are other areas of the world that can’t stand American culture.

They hate that we’re free to practice any religion (or not at all), they hate that we have the freedom of speech and they hate that we treat women and men equally.

They don’t like that we’re the world’s number one leader in entertainment and they can’t stand that we have so much pride for our country. Actually, I’m not really sure of anything that they like about our culture. If you know of something, please don’t hesitate to let me know in the comments below.

    They’re Jealous

people are jealous of America know this reason sounds like I’m just tooting my own American horn here, but let’s be honest; America is an amazing country and is the world’s most desired place to live.

This outstanding awesomeness is naturally going to cause people, who don’t live in America, to be jealous and this jealousy is a major cause for all the hatred.

    in Family

We have featured nearly 100 interviews with people making a difference around the globe. Our youngest guests are proof you don't have to a degree or years of experience to make a tremendous difference.  In fact, at just 11 years of age, our upcoming guests began making an impact upon thousands of hurting lives.

Kenzie Hall is a military brat who works to identify what military kids need for the long-haul. Five years ago, at just 11 years-of-age she created "Brat Pack 11," while her father was deployed to Afghanistan. Her foundation's mission is to recognize "the children of military heroes nationwide by providing them with unforgettable experiences and connecting them with a network of continued support." Her Brat Pack 11 foundation is now operating under a national non-profit, "The Boot Campaign." The 501c3 supports veterans, and their families, through Housing, Jobs, Wellness, Education, Urgent Assistance, Family Support, and Honor and Gratitude Programs, such as Brat Pack 11. We're going to get an update from Kenzie Hall on her foundation while meeting with another dynamic young entrepreneur.

Kylie Simonds is an 11 year-old cancer survivor who battled rhabdomyosarcoma, a soft tissue cancer three years ago. Kylie was came up with an invention through her school and Connecticut Invention Convention. She went to work on using her cancer journey to bless other kids in the battle. Kylie designed a backpack that allows children some mobility while receiving I.V. treatments or infusions. Her campaign to raise the funds to bring her invention to market went viral, capturing the attention of CNN, Fox News, Huffington Post, among others. To-date she's raised more than 90% of her goal for the IV Pediatric Backpack.

Join us to meet these two extraordinary girls, each passionate for their cause and determined to make a world of difference!
