We will be talking about the history of Celebrate Recovery and how this amazing program is helping to change and save the lives of those struggling with an addiction. This is a unique program that uses the bible as it's foundation and links scripture to the principle of 12 steps of recovery. I am so excited to finally talk about this program because I know how making a connection to your higher power is essential in a persons recovery. I know the hearts of these two men who are going to speak tonight, and they both have amazing testiomonies of recovery. They are dedicated to changing the lives of everyone they come in contact with.

Mr. Zapata has over 31 years of experience in substance abuse prevention and treatment with Latino youth and adult populations. Zapata joined the Fresno County Hispanic Commission on Alcohol & Drug Abuse Services, Inc. in 1983, as an Attendant at the Spanish speaking residential facility Nuestra Casa, and in 1984 began conducting Alcohol and Drug Education (DUI) classes in the rural areas of Fresno County for over 13 years, and in July of 1997 he accepted the position of Executive Director for the 501 c 3 nonprofit $1 million operation.
