  • John Daly Show: NFL Kickoff

    in News

Football season begins in 1 week.

    Do you care?

It is a question some folks are taking seriously this year.

We’ll explore that and some games and trends to watch.

As always my expert is Eric Snyder.  He is the author of a book on the Raiders and Raider Nation.

You can also hear him on the Power Hour on Fox Sports Radio 1340 in Vegas.

    Boychic, happy 2015 football season.

    (*****)

The Brady decision is done.  Tom Terrific will play and not be suspended.  I spoke to our legal expert Ken Lakin right after the ruling.  He said it was inevitable that NFL had failed to designate what penalty would be for deflating a football and the NFL failed to give Brady’s side the same chance to review testimony and evidence.  He also thinks the case is over since appeals like this are rarely successful.  What is your take?

    (*****)

So is football losing its steam?  We are hearing more and more about the head injuries and lives of the players cut short.  The Junior Seau tragedy.  Domestic violence.  I think I am hearing some folks say they’re losing interest in football.  What are you hearing?

    (*****)

We’re talking with Eric Snyder.  He is the author of a book on the Raiders and Raider Nation.

You can also hear him on the Power Hour on Fox Sports Radio 1340 in Vegas.

Let’s talk Raiders.  I see a good year for them.  I also see Kahlil Mack as the break out player this year.

John Taglieri new EP True Believer ... melodic hard rock

    in Rock Music

Today Pop Art Painter Jamie Roxx (www.JamieRoxx.us) welcomes Alternative Rocker John Taglieri back to the show!

    http://johntaglieri.com

At the turn of the century singer / songwriter John Taglieri released his debut album, ‘Leap of Faith.’  The album title foreshadowed a career that has so far spanned a decade and a half and has taken John to places he’d previously only dreamed about…from topping the Amazon charts to hitting the Billboard charts to gigging around the world all while maintaining a half year residency in tropical Key West, FL.

In 2015 Taglieri is fourteen releases down the road and has crossed genres from hard rock to pop to country rock and with the True Believer Ep he has returned to the style that kicked it all off for him – pure, unadulterated melodic hard rock.  Writing on his own as well as with longtime friends John Calendrillo and Ron Ossi, Taglieri has created a hook heavy record that even the most discriminating rock fan will be drawn towards.

  • John Carver Show - PX4=P

    in Self Help

    P X 4 = P

I’ve never been a “math whiz” but from time to time I make up an equation that impacts most of our lives.

Here’s the solution to the equation then I will jump into its parts:

P X 4 stands for Problems, Pruning, People and Pressure.

    What’s the final P?  PERFORMANCE

In order to reach a high level of performance there is a long road that you have to travel.

Each of these “Ps” (Problems, Pruning, People and Pressure) has a way of PUSHING you to PERFORMANCE!

Isaac Settles in Gerar – Genesis 26

26 Now there was a famine in the land, besides the previous famine that had occurred in the days of Abraham. So Isaac went to Gerar, to Abimelech king of the Philistines. 2 The Lord appeared to him and said, “Do not go down to Egypt; [a]stay in the land of which I shall tell you. 3 Sojourn in this land and I will be with you and bless you, for to you and to your [b]descendants I will give all these lands, and I will establish the oath which I swore to your father Abraham.

PROBLEMS have a way of creating steel in your spine or jello in your soul.

2nd P = Pruning.  To grow we must be willing to be cleaned up from time to time so we will grow.

Toward the end of my talk I share the "OPs" that you and I can leverage.

There are many people who fail to leverage their problems, pruning, people and pressure thus turning them into excuses or stumbling blocks in their lives.

Most of the time EXCELLENT performance is a result of Problems, Pruning, People and Pressure.  I would say 90% of the time.

You can either WASTE those situations or USE those situations.

"Up Close & Personal" with Bassist "John Dillard"

    in Music

Profusely talented and highly gifted.Born and raised in Rochester, NY, John was surrounded by music that helped shape his particular style of playing. John credits his early influences to his father. John’s musical journey started when he was eight years old. John gives credit to other heavy influences aside from family members such as Jaco Pastorius, Marcus Miller, Dave Holland, Ron Carter, John Patitucci, Nathan East, Fred Hammond, and Joel Smith. They drove his growth, resulting in a deeper love and dedication to the art of being a bassist. When asked about his greatest influences, John’s response is always: “Too many to name and enough to keep me humble and always practicing.”
Whether John is playing electric, acoustic (upright) bass, or key bass, John can be found holding the groove on local stages in Charlotte, NC, his hometown, or performing on main stages across the country with national recording artists. In his career thus far, he has worked with gospel artist Lejuene Thompson, musical director for Grammy Award-winning singer and actress Stephanie Mills, contemporary jazz artists Brian Simpson, Matt Marshak, Jeff Kashiwa, Steve Cole, Walter Beasley, Nick Colionne, Marc Antoine, and Four80East. Additionally, John has earned Grammy certifications for his performances on EMI gospel projects “Oh Happy Day,” an All-Star Celebration (Best Traditional Gospel Album) and Heather Headley’s “Audience of One” (Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album.) They were both won at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards.
