A Conversation with Malvin Dino Vice of The Gap Band

    in Lifestyle

The career of this veteran music arranger/songwriter/producer/musician begins in Tulsa, Oklahoma where “Dino” began his musical journey as a local musician.    Dino began entertaining professionally at the age of twelve where he and Gap Band legend Charlie Wilson, along with some other childhood friends started their first performing band, “The Carver GTs” later to become “The Majestic Soul”. The band performed at the local Y.M.C.A, private parties, teen hops, and nightclubs.

In their early teen years, Dino and Charlie were asked to fill-in for Charlie’s older brother (Ronnie Wilson, another Gap Band legend), and another musician in a group called The Magnificent Seven, which was co-founded by the older Wilson brother. Immediately, Dino and Charlie were recruited into this band, and continued to back black music dignitaries at the larger venues. Sam & Dave (Hold on I’m Comin”), The Ike & Tina Turner Review, Mel & Tim (Backfield In Motion), The Chi-Lites, Lowell Fulsom, Bobby Bland, Joe Simon, The Festivals, are to name a few of the many acts that were backed by this band.  A great legacy and a wonderful conversation with this legend.

Suspense Radio Inside Edition May 2nd, 2015

    in Books

Suspense Radio is back with another action packed show. 90 minutes and three author interviews await you.

First up we have James Ziskin, then we have Allen Eskens, finished up with Mark Pryor.

    James Ziskin: Stone Cold Dead

December 21, 1960, the shortest day of the year: Fifteen-year-old Darleen Hicks slips away from her school bus as it idles in the junior-high parking lot, waiting to depart. Moments later the bus rumbles away without her, and she is never seen again.

Allen Eskens: The Life we Bury

College student Joe Talbert has the modest goal of completing a writing assignment for an English class. His task is to interview a stranger and write a brief biography of the person. With deadlines looming, Joe heads to a nearby nursing home to find a willing subject. There he meets Carl Iverson, and soon nothing in Joe's life is ever the same.

    Mark Pryor: Hollow Man

Dominic is a prosecutor, a musician, and an Englishman living in Texas. He's also a psychopath. His main goal is to hide his condition and lead a seemingly normal life in hopes to pay off his debts and become a full-time musician in Austin's  club scene. But on one lousy day his carefully-controlled world starts to shatter: he's demoted at work and accused of stealing a fellow musician's song.

He also meets a beautiful woman in a lime green dress--perhaps the biggest threat to his safety of all. At her urging, Dominic hatches a plan to steal a van he knows will be filled with cash. He picks two friends as accomplices, insisting on no guns and no violence. But a security guard catches them in the act and simple theft turns into capital murder.

Convict the Six! REALLY! - XANDERMONIUM!

    in Politics

Hr1  New Baltimore mantra is "convict the 6". Uh, shouldn't we wait for a trial & evidence? That's how justice is determined. Its called due process.

Black Atlanta women are making their own videos while they stomp on the American flag calling it the #EricSheppardChallenge.

Xander Gibb joins Joe for a little Xandermonium. Talking Baltimore, Freddie Gray, cops, and thug being cod for the N-word. Xander says he's sick of people generalizing a group based on the bad actions of a few.

An Idaho ordinance can jail pastors for refusing to perform same-sex marriage. Isn't forcing someone to perform a service they don't want to do... slavery? We abolished that 150 yrs ago! (Xander wisdom).

Hr2  One woman suggests that all the "white" people calling the Baltimore Mom who dragged her son off the rioting streets "Mom of the Year" were saying that because they were happy to see a black kid getting beat up on TV. Are you KIDDING ME?!?!?!

Agree with the Baltimore protesters shouting for "justice." That also means justice for the business owners and other people who's businesses and livelihoods were destroyed by so-called "protesters." That means "justice" for the 101 criminals who were let go because of a 48 hour rule. Where's their justice?

John Kerry says the Bible tells us to protect Muslims from global warming. Uh, which Bible is he talking about?

Hr3  Iranians are threatening to board any ship that they "claim" not to recognize.

George Soros owes HOW MUCH in taxes?

    Michael Moore Moronisms.

Chinese funerals are getting interesting... complete with strippers. A way to increase attendance. Really?

Fraternity mistakenly identified as gang. Whoops!
