Reggie Dwayne Johnson (born August 28, 1966 in Houston, Texas) is a southpaw American boxer who held the WBA middleweight title and IBF light-heavyweight title during his career. Johnson, nicknamed "Sweet", began his pro career in 1984. His only loss in the build-up was a decision to Adam George. Johnson won the WBA Inter-Continental middleweight title in 1989, and won the USBA middleweight title in 1990, before losing a disputed split decision in 1991 against James Toney for the IBF middleweight title, a fight in which he notably knocked Toney down in the 2nd round.
In April 1992 he captured the vacant WBA middleweight title by taking a close decision over Steve Collins. After three successful defenses, including a decision over the undefeated Lamar Parks, Johnson lost the belt to fellow southpaw John David Jackson. He twice failed in attempts to regain the WBA title, both by hotly disputed decisions to Argentinian Jorge Fernando Castro in Argentina.
He later moved up to light-heavyweight, capturing the IBF title in February 1998 against the undefeated William Guthrie in the 5th round with a rare one-punch knockout, a fight in which Guthrie left the ring on a stretcher. Johnson defended the title twice before losing by to Roy Jones in a unification bout in 1999.
Frank Carillo and the Bandoleros / Mark Lacob and the Van Buren Boys
Frank Carillo is the epitome of the "musician's musician." Throughout his career, his craftsmanship as a gifted world-class guitar player, electrifying stage performances, memorable prolific songwriting and his warm and affable persona have allowed him to make an indelible mark on the international music scene.
Carillo toured extensively throughout 1978 and 1979, playing with such acts as the J. Geils Band, Cheap Trick, Van Halen and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. During a break in touring late in 1978, Frank found time to collaborate with Carly Simon, co-writing the song, "Pure Sin." Frank played guitar on the track, which was produced by world-renowned producer Arif Mardin for Carly's Spy album. The second Carillo album, Street of Dreams, was released on Atlantic in 1979 and also had another luminary doing backing vocals: Michael Bolton. After the release of this album, Frank embarked on a 64-show U.S.A. tour opening for Bad Company. Playing to sold-out audiences in major areas across America, Carillo stunned the critics and fans with electrifying shows that received rave reviews throughout the United States, with standing ovations and encores occurring at every show. The tour culminated in San Antonio, Texas, when after Bad Company's show, Carillo and Bad Company came out on stage and jammed, rocking the roof off the building! In 1986, Frank began writing and producing sessions with famed British model, actress, and singer Twiggy while she was in New York performing in a Broadway play. These sessions once again brought Frank and Carly Simon together, performing backing vocals on the Twiggy recordings.

Collingwood, Ontario – Research shows our global climate is changing, yet we persist in convincing ourselves technology can fix anything and our natural resources are unlimited. We’re too busy, so we kick the can down the road expecting our children to solve our problems for us.
But what kind of future will our children inherit? How can we make our homes and communities the safe, healthy, special place they should be?
Environmental Insights is dedicated to “changing how people see their choices.” Through empowering sustainability keynotes, workshops and webinars, Environmental Insights offers practical ways to implement and balance social, environmental and economic responsibilities to benefit the health of your family, your community and your planet.
“I’m constantly searching for the buttons I can push that will cause people to take another look,” says JoAnne Fleming-Valin, founder of Environmental Insights. “Until we change how we see something we’ll never change how we do anything."
JoAnne believes the problem begins with our “modern creation story” where everything begins on a store shelf in a package. This story reveals the fundamental disconnect with our community.
“So many people in the younger generations don’t understand what community means,” explains JoAnne. “If you don’t have that sense of community, you’re not engaged in the issues facing your community."
JoAnne is also the author of the forthcoming book The Aisle Less Traveled: Alternatives for Women Shoppers. JoAnne believes women have the ability to change the direction of the world with their choices.
“Simplifying life isn’t about deprivation, it’s about innovation. You have to be open to new insights to experience the emotional shift that changes your behavior.”
