According to boxing legend George Forman, “I get up in the morning looking for an adventure.” The same can be said about Calvin Schwartz. These days Cal divides his time between more activities than most of us -- Senior Writer NJ -The Shore Thing, novelist (Vichy Water), blogger, music journalist, biographer, and explorer of all things New Jersey. This Rutgers grad and former pharmacist has finally found his niche in journalism, and he’s using his writing skills and quest for knowledge to embark on a series of grand adventures. Just check out Cal on Facebook, and you’ll be apprised of his daily adventures. One day he’s at Grounds for Sculpture admiring Marilyn Monroe’s long legs, another day he’s hanging out with Comedian Mike Marino and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Vini Lopez at Warlock Drums. He recently had the honor of interviewing Princess Elettra Marconi Giovannelli, daughter the inventor of radio. To say Cal’s interests and pursuits are varied, is an understatement. This adventurer has auditioned for The Apprentice at age 60, examined paranormal activities, met more NJ musicians than most, advocated for the homeless, and has cultivated a strong spiritual side. But there is one Asbury Park experience Cal hasn’t had, and he’s going to share that with me this weekend. Curious? Thought so! Somehow with all this, Cal is developing a new web site which will be “the embodiment of what he’s done for the past 30 years.” After the interview, check out After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for more info.

Like many popular leading men of Hollywood’s heyday, Garner boasted all-American good looks and a winning personality that carried him through comedy and drama alike. Garner won two Emmys and racked up a total of 15 nominations. He had his greatest impact in television, first on “Maverick” in the ’50s and then in the ’70s on “The Rockford Files,” for which he won an Emmy in 1977 Variety
“What you saw is what you got,” childhood friend, Roy Hamilton
Garner was born James Bumgarner but changed his name for Hollywood. His relatives say the name was the only thing that changed.
“As much as people liked what they saw of him on television and in the movies, I think they’d like him even better if they would’ve known him in person,” said nephew, Terry Bumgarner. Norman Transcript

In 2014 The Fearless Are Redeemed!
Isaiah 43:1 But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.
This year is the time for the rebirthing of new thoughts, new attitude, new actions and responses. To rebirth is to move forward to let go of that which was old and birth that which is to become new. How much are you willing to let go? How much are you really ready to change? What will it take to change?... A THOUGHT...Its A Mind Thing! (Cass)

Join The Joshua Generation Network this week as we talk about single Black women and motherhood/parenthood.
We know that "baby daddy"' was a creation of white America and that integration, in and of itself, has devastated Black families and especially Black women across America.
Are you a single Black woman, whether by widowhood, divorce, choice, or "just because"? If so, what do you think about how American living has redefined Black womanhood, Black fatherhood, and the Black family through the "Plantation Picaninny" and "Mister" model of America's antiquated Jim Crow Society.
How have white people's attitudes and their televised and musical "plantation ownership" filth about us caused damage and harm to us, socially, morally, and psychologically? How should we answer this in the days, months, and years to come?
Where are American Black men in the lives of single Black women/mothers, whether the "fathers" of these children are deceased, disabled, or missing in action, i.e., have opted, like their white forefathers did, to abandon their Black families?

For the past forty years, Charles Manson has languished in prison for his participation in the Manson family murders of 1969. He is America’s icon of evil, the one who brought down the curtain on the 1960s. He has never been a quiet inmate, however. From his unbridled outbursts of rage to his tender acts of generosity, he makes his presence felt to everyone around him.
He inspires awe in other inmates, he cozies up to prison guards who are eager to do him favors, and he is responsible for countless staff transfers within and outside of the institution.
This book details the dramatic journey of Willie Mendez, a troubled inmate, housed next to the serial killer for more than a year. Willie became institutionalized after repeated violations of the law, including attempted murder and armed robbery. He is serving a sixty-eight year prison sentence.
From his initial feelings of contempt toward the aging killer, Willie, nicknamed, “Boxcar,” by Manson, traveled to a place of openness and acceptance of the old man’s ideas. Over time, he began to defer more and more to Manson without reservation.
This is a tale of growth and maturity that contains intimate details and shocking jailhouse secrets. Willie shares an insider’s view of Charles Manson, his crazy behavior, his whispered confessions, and his sometimes profound wisdom.
“Charlie” speaks openly about his sexuality, shares some details of the Tate and LaBianca murders, and relates his childhood experience of being forced to wear a dress to school. CHARLES MANSON BEHIND BARS: The Crazy Antics and Amazing Revelations of America's Icon of Evil-Mark Hewit
