    From The Touchline in Seattle

    in Sports

Todd Stauber and Aaron Heinzen return this week on From The Touchline in Seattle. The Women's World Cup is out of the group stage and while the USA has advanced, they've done so in prehistoric fashion. Hear what they have to say about the style of play and formation head coach Jill Ellis continues to go to. The Copa America is down to the semifinals and overall the tournament has been an mix of red cards, theatrics, and a little bit of good play. The boys break down the semifinal matches and talk about the gong show that has surrounded the tournament. It's rivalry week in the MLS and former Portland Timbers defender Scot Thompson comes on the show to talk about the massive Seattle Portland rivalry and give insight from a players perspective. As always we have Stauber's Bottom 3, Heinzo's World XI and 2-touch. Catch us today at 5pm Eastern, 2pm Pacific!

    Manhattan Beach Chamber Events

    in Current Events

We have a couple of returning guests this morning, Jill Brunkhardt from Chevron and Nancy Vrankovic from the Simm’s Group.

Jill Brunkhardt has been a Public Affairs Representative at the Chevron El Segundo Refinery since September 2006. She’s very active in the community and currently sits on the board of directors for the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce, Manhattan Beach Botanical Garden, Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce and several other organizations.

Nancy Vrankovic is the Director of Catering and Special Events for Simms Restaurants, a relatively new company based in Manhattan Beach with a rich family history in the restaurant business.  She began her career in her family’s restaurants in Arizona as a teen, bussing tables to make gas money.  What began as an after school job blossomed into a career when she began managing a restaurant while attending the University of Arizona. She then worked at the Westin la Paloma where she worked her way up to Catering Sales Manager.

Our guests are on the Manhattan Beach Chamber Executive Board and this morning, we’re going to talk about the different Chamber events that are scheduled for the rest of the year.

TONIGHT ON THE CHEMISTRY LAB SHOW: FOOLS GOLD

    in Podcasting

TUNE IN EVERY THURSDAY NIGHT FOR THE CHEMISTRY LAB SHOW AT 9 PM EST ON WGAG RADIO!!!

CALL 347.884.9239 TO SPEAK WITH THE NUYORK, KIESHA AND THE BRAINTRUST!

FOOLS GOLD WRITTEN BY JILL SCOTT

Oh, silly me my dear, for thinking that you'd stay
Gave you my heart and then you ran away
Either I'm stupid, I'm foolish, or you're playing me
But it seems we were never really meant to be

So I thought I would try something new
I wanted to find out if I could live happy without you
And it turned out I wasn't living at all
I'd rather never known if you had just played along

I was living the dream believing things that just ain't true
Oh I can't believe I ever believed in you
You had me chasing fool's gold
    I was chasing fool's gold
    I was chasing fool's gold

So I did that inside knowing you weren't right
For breaking the spell was a plan I never did right
I wanna be here forever if it's for you
But I would had been living forever as your fool

I was blinded to my core
And I went into the wrong door
    And furthermore

I was living the dream believing things that just ain't true
Oh I can't believe I ever believed in you
You had me chasing fool's gold
    I was chasing fool's gold
    I was chasing fool's gold

I was living the dream believing things that just ain't true
Oh I can't believe I ever believed in you
You had me chasing fool's gold
    I was chasing fool's gold
    I was chasing fool's gold

#233 Dave the Mystic and Jill LaLiberte Continue Discussion of Chakras

    in Spirituality

Please join Dave the Mystic on Monday, June 22nd at 8PM MDT with returning guest Jill LaLiberte.  We are continuing the discussion of chakras that we started on May 25th.  Please listen to that show when you have a chance if you didn’t hear it before.  We still have many areas to cover!

Jill LaLiberte is a gifted astrologer as well as a board certified acupuncturist and energy practitioner.  Jill teaches classes in many areas of energy work and makes things very understandable which is great for our interest in chakras tonight.  I originally asked Jill to come on and discuss chakras, their characteristics, how they affect a person’s interactions with their surroundings and what has been changing lately.  We welcome chakra questions during the show from callers.

    Thanks for joining!

    Blessings!

Phiyah Phlows in the Cherry Spot with Cherry Bomb and Black Sapphire

    in Books

Tiffany D. Glover, aka Jayne Phlow, has been writing poetry for roughly 25 years and performing for approximately 17 years. Growing up as an only child, Tiffany retreated into her own private world of imaginary friends and books upon books upon books. English, Spelling, Grammar and Literature were always her favorite subjects in school and she soon discovered she had a knack for essay writing, entering and actually winning a few contests throughout her middle and high school years. When artists Lauryn Hill, Alanis Morrisette, Erykah Badu and Jill Scott hit the music scene, she was intrigued at how they sang about their loves and hurts and pains, yet made it sound like sweet therapeutic release. She very quickly followed their leads and too began channeling all of her hurts, pains, aggravations, tears and yes, even love here-and-there, into poetry. Anything that Tiffany was unable to find the courage to SPEAK easily poured out of her pen, generating years upon years of notebook upon notebook packed full of her soul.
