Dan Rafael of ESPN is reporting that Manny Pacquiao will undergo right shoulder surgery later this week. What began as a disappointing “excuse” has turned into a significant injury that not only takes some of the shine off of last weekend’s fight but also will result in Manny Pacquiao being sidelined for up to one year.
The report quotes orthopedic surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache referring to the injury a “significant tear” in Pacquiao’s rotator cuff which was confirmed with an MRI scan.
This is such a shame on so many fronts. Not only will this take something away from Floyd Mayweather’s dominant performance in the eyes of the general public, but it brings even hardcore fans back to that all-too-familiar “What if…” feeling they thought they had finally rid themselves of after six years of waiting and wondering. Boxing never ceases to be cruel to both the fighters and the fans alike.

EDDIE VINCENT HAS STUDIED JIU JITSU FOR OVER 15 YEARS. HIS JOURNEY BEGAN WITH WALT BAYLESS. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN THE BEGINNING OF HIS HYBRID CROSS TRAINIING (JIU JITSU AND WRESTLING) EDDIE DOESNT JUST KNOW JIU JITSU, HE EMBODIES THE JIU JITSU LIFESTYLE, UNDERSTANDS THE SPIRITUALITY OF THE ARTE SUAVE.... AND INTEGRATES CROSS TRAINING WITH WRESTLING BASED TECHNIQUES AND JIU JITSU FUSED TOGETHER. I BELIEVE THE MAT FACTORY'S TEAM SUCESS AT THE NAGA, IN MMA AND IN OTHER GRAPPLING TOURNAMENTS ARE BECAUSE OF EDDIES TEACHINGS ALONG WITH HIS FELLOW COACH ISAAC GREELEY. STUDENTS SUCH AS DOM MAZZOTTA, CHRIS DEMPSEY, DEREK WRIGHT, FRANCIS HEALY AND ZACH GOBEL ALL HAVE INTEGRATED EDDIE'S TEACHINGS INTO THEIR MMA TRAINING AND ALL ARE SUCCESSFUL. I TRULY LOOK AT AT EDDIE VINCENT AS AN INNOVATOR AND ORIGINATOR FROM PERSONAL EXPERIENCE, AND AS THE PICTURE ON THE MAT FACTORY WALL SHOWS OF HELIO GRACIE, HE FOLLOWS IN THE FOOTSTEPS IN TEACHING LIKE THE LATE GREAT GRANDMASTER.
Ray Rice was suspended for abusing his now wife. He held a press conference to apologize to the nation and tell everyone why he was wrong. Of course that's society's way of cleaning up an image, but is it really necessary to do? Should athletes apologize to the media? I understand that there's a need to apologize to the victim, family, friends, team, and even the fans. But, why do guys like Skip Bayless get so bent out of shape?
Hearing guys on ESPN talking about "I'll never forgive him" is almost laughable. Why should the player care what a media mouth thinks?
We'll discuss that, anything we noticed about our teams in the first weekend of football, the Jersey Number Countdown to Kickoff (#28 down to #22), and more as Zone Coverage continues on the Talk 2 Q Radio Show!

"On March 19th, 2003, the United States and Great Britain led their second publicized military assault on Iraq. Under the facade of liberation and democracy, U.S. troops seized the country, securing the oil fields, the Ministry of Oil, the Interior Ministry (CIA), and taking the lives of thousands of people. Iraq's rich culture, history, and valuable assets were left vulnerable to stealth and destruction. In the years since, the lack of security, jobs, electricity, and potable water have made life for Iraqis unbearable. American troops are perceived by the indigenous population as occupiers--not liberators--for the Iraqi people are far better educated in U.S. history than Americans are themselves. Our obligation to the people of Iraq, to the people of America, and to the rest of the world is the immediate and unconditional withdrawal of American troops and mercenaries from Iraq. The United States MUST liberate Iraq from its own brutal hands. This website is my attempt to explain why."--DSW
