International Film amd Television icon, Jerry Douglas joined the cast of the #1 rated daytime drama The Young and the Restless in March 1982 as John Abbott, the patriarch of the Abbott family and the wealthy chairman of Jabot Cosmetics. The Young and the Restless has been the #1 rated daytime for over 17 years and airs on CBS from Sony Pictures Television and can be seen around the world in over 25 foreign countries. Over the span of his carreer, Douglas has guest starred in numerous television series and feature films including the HBO series Arrested Development and had supporting roles in Avalanche, Looker, Mommie Dearest and Oliver Stone’s JFK among countless others. Douglas’s first love however is singing. He is considered by many of his fans and others as the last of the great crooners. Douglas has toured the United States and Canada for over 20 years by performing standards in casinos and concert halls to sold out audiences in the US and Canada and is getting ready to release his latest CD of popular melodies. Douglas launched his acting career upon graduation from Brandeis University many years ago, studing with renowned acting coaches Uta Hagen in New York and Jeff Corey in Los Angeles. During Douglas’s spare time, he has his own production company Jovra Inc. and has several projects in development. He stops by on Tuesday, April 23, at 7pm EST.

For 25 years Jerry Douglas reigned in fictional Genoa City as patriarch John Abbott on the daytime television serial, The Young and the Restless. In 2006 his character was killed off, however, he continues to appear as a ghost who visits his children when they need guidance.

Douglas Dietrich is the son of a retired U.S. Navy Sailor. Douglas worked for ten years as a Department of Defense Research Librarian at the Presidio Military Base of San Francisco, where one of his major duties was document destruction. He then experienced the 1991 Kuwaiti campaign, serving in Desert Storm as a United Sates Marine.

For more than 45 years, DC has been singing madrigal, plain-song, oratorio, art song, opera, musicals, jazz, Blues, swing, rock, pop, country –western and even some jingles.
