The View Up Here talks C-525, organized labour, its opponents, and CPC's agenda

    in Politics

Some things just don't change in Ottawa as the "Dark Ages" near the end. Recall bill C-377, which died a deserving death in the Senate courtesy of (former) Senator Hugh Segal. That bill sought to force unions to disclose information and incur costs of doing business that no party would ever demand of corporations. But then, the Corporate Pacification Committee seems to demand next to nothing from the corporate sector. Not taxes. Not compliance. They do accept potential laws from them though.

Cue private members bill C-525. The tactic of having faceless backbench seals introduce devious bills is becoming a base tactic for Emperor. This bill seeks to once again take away rights of all Canadian workers by dictating conditions of organization to the Federal public sector. The civil service is the largest concentration of unionized workers in Canada. The familiar refrains of "good value for taxpayers" and "accountabilty", which mean absolutely nothing to a Government that spends 100 million tax dollars a year on partisan ads, are the usual talking points. The now routine use of limiting debate and pushing through laws for their friends was almost derailed by the Senate. Despite finding errors in the bill, which may add it to the pile of unconstitutional legislation from this junta, the chamber of "sober second thought" passed it anyway.

Why? Because any amended bill in the Senate must go back to the House of Commons to be approved again. That was just too risky to those bastions of democracy known as Emperor's hordes. Diane Finley lauds it. Tony Panayi (Clement) lauds it. That is enough cause for alarm right there.

We will look at this mess of a bill and see how it will effect all working people's rights. We will also include Emperor's cheering section, notably Merit Canada, where half-truths are a way of doing business 24/7.

From the Benches: Where in the World is Jermichael Sandiego ?

    in Football

The boys are back and better than ever with a brand new show and new content. The first discussion is the odd tweets, and the doctor's visit of free agent tight end Jermichael Finley, and if they think the tweets or the release of Victor Aieywa means anything.

Following that they go Behind the Bench with a preview of Ross' upcoming series on Packerstalk.com discussing the top training camp battles and they pick their favorites.

After that discussion the boys open a new series where they will discuss Packers history of the last 25 years. This week's topic was their favorite transaction from the eras of Wolf, Sherman, and Ted Thompson.

To end it all Jacob has some words for some Packers beat writers in the show's signature segment of "You're Gonna Want to Cut That."

Talking in Circles: Sam Hornish, Jr named driver of #9; Ryan Reed Reups with RFR

    in Sports

Sam Hornish, Jr. has been named the driver of the number 9 at Richard Petty Motorsports for 2015 and beyond. Hornish has signed a mult-year deal for the team, and gets the ride over the likes of David Ragan and Corey LaJoie. We'll discuss whether or not RPM made the right hire, and what lead to them picking Hornish over the others.

This week in NASCAR history, we go back to October 8, 2006 at Talladega Superspeedway, when Brian Vickers, who was leaving Hendrick Motorsports at season's end, makes contact with teammate, Jimmie Johnson, who then collected Dale Earnhardt Jr, propelling Vickers to his first ever NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win, and to some controversy that would live on forever in the hearts of race fans.

Crew chief changes at Front Row Motorsports will take place, effective immediately. Frankie Kerr, who was cc for the number 38 car and driver, David Gilliland. Jay Guy, who was working for Gilliland's teammate, David Ragan, will come over to take the place of Kerr. Competition Director, Derrick Finley will take over for Guy for the time being, as they look for a replacement for Guy to fill in that void.

Also, moving on to Nationwide Series news, Ryan Reed has resigned with Roush Fenway Racing and his sponsor, Lilly Diabetes will return in a multi-year deal with the organization in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.

Also, some more sad news out of the garage area, as Fox Sports commentator, Steve Byrnes will take a leave of absence once again as his cancer has returned. Byrnes took a leave in the middle of 2013 to battle cancer and was successfully treated.

Also, our picks to win at Charlotte Motor Speedway; as we preview the Bank of America 500.
