Pete Carroll will never dodge his play call, in the Super Bowl. However, there are more important things on Carroll's mind, as the 2015 season starts. The biggest concern is how will the Seahawks win the NFC West, for a third consecutive year. The St. Louis Rams have used additional picks, from the trade with Washington to stockpile young talented players. Often injured Sam Bradford is no longer the quarterback. The Rams traded for Nick Foles, who is coming off a broken collarbone. However, the addition of Todd Gurley could solidify the running game.
Carson Palmer is returning from a knee injury, in Arizona. He hopes that he can continue were he left off last season. The Cardinals defense willed them to a playoff berth, after a carousel of quarterbacks stood behind center. Still a major concern is running back. Andre Ellington is the starter, but can he handle the workload?
The fiasco with Jim Harbaugh is over, and the San Francisco 49ers have moved on. A suprise move to many, they named defensive line coach Jim Tomsula, head coach. Nothing went right for the 49ers one year ago. Chris Boreland looked to be a budding star but opted to retire, after one season. Defensively, they are going to have to try and find an indentiy. Offensively, long time running back Frank Gore has departed. This opens the door for Carlos Hyde to be the primary back. Will Tomsula work with Colin Kaepernick, or try to make him a pocket passer. There are many questions surrounding the 49ers?
Finally, Jimmy Graham is the answer inside the red zone, according to Seattle Seahawk fans. After back to back Super Bowl appearences, the Seahawks traded for one of the best tight ends, in the NFL. The biggest loss is the person whom they traded, Max Unger. Russell Wilson is a scrambling quarterback, but you still need to protect him.
After a heartbreaking NFC Championship loss, the Green Bay Packers were one of the favorites to play in Super Bowl 50. They resigned Randall Cobb, returned all offensive starters, including reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers. On draft day, they added another weapon, Ty Montgomery from Stanford. Before camp, Montgomery was nothing more than a rookie on the depth chart. The wide receiver unit was solid, with Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb, and DeVante Adams rounding out the top three. There were talks of Mike McCarthy possibly keeping six wide receivers, on the roster.
Jared Abbrederis was the first victim of injury, in the wide receiver unit, suffering a concussion. Then Jordy Nelson tore his ACL, and now Randall Cobb injured his shoulder. Nelson is out for the year, and Cobb's return is unknown. He suffered a minor AC joint sprain. Bigger injuries loom as Bryan Bulaga sprained his ankle, and has had a history of injuries. Micah Hyde left the game with a neck injury.
Are you willing to put your life on the line for what you believe? Twelve advocates of supporting good neighborhood public schools have certainly done so. The Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel, wants to close Dyett public school, strategically located in the Hyde Park area bordering the Bronzeville community, forcing families to have to travel miles away from home to reach a nearby public school. In Chicago, traveling to outside neighborhoods could be fatal, given the unchecked gang violence that cost so many lives last school year. The bottom line issue is always money. The Dyett High school building would serve those well who want to include it in a real estate deal as the city negotiates space in Hyde Park for the new Presidential library. And as for the safety and education of the children? The city has chosen to ignore an excellent plan for the reopening Dyett as a Dyett Global Leadership and Green Technology School. Mr. Jitu Brown and Dr. Ayesha Wade Bey join us to give an update on the hunger strike.
Pulse of the Pack takes a look at the debacle at Lambeau that was preseason game three. The Packers lost the game and nearly lost a few more key pieces in Randall Cobb, Bryan Bulaga and Micah Hyde. From the looks of what we saw, the Packers have some work to do before they open the regular season against the Chicago Bears. Jacob and Jason discuss what went wrong and where the silver linings were. Roster battles are heating up and the Packers will trim their roster from 90 to 75 players. Listen in to find out who is likely to stay for another week and who is headed out the door. With only two weeks until the season opener, you won't want to miss this installment of Pulse of the Pack!
Pulse of the Pack is your weekly stop for what's new with the Green Bay Packers. Jacob Westendorf and Jason Perone of ALLGBP.com bring "Pulse" to the Packers Talk Network. Be sure to follow the guys on Twitter at @JacobWestendorf and @JasonPerone.
Many times throughout the years I have felt inadequate and just plain unworthy. God has shown me time and again that He is not looking for someone with ability. He only wants us to be available to Him. I will share some of the wonderful testimonies we have seen over the years.
Having supernatural encounters is supposed to be normal. Listen to some of the encounters Larry and Connie have had over the past 40 years.
Sorry it's been awhile boils and ghouls, but mama Sasha is back w/ more conversations on Horror. Today I'd like to talk about something near and dear to me- the depiction of Transgender People in fictional works, especially Horror. Being Transgender myself, some wonder why I love the horror genre since many people say they depict my people in a negative light. Though True in most cases, it does give the medium an opportunity to improve. I mean think of this way- we now have strong Female and Ethinic Characters outside of the stereotypes of yore but we had to broach the negative before we found the positive. For example, look at Laverne Cox in "Orange is the New Black." But let's talk about some old and new Transgender Characters in Fiction!
When we believe because we have faith in God, nothing will be impossible (Mark 9:26). Today I am joined by Rev. Larry and Connie Howard and in today's program we will share some of our experiences which combined total more than 101 years. That should be for an interesting program.
King James Bible Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.
Holman Christian Standard Bible Then Jesus said to him, "'If You can? Everything is possible to the one who believes."
International Standard Version Jesus told him, "'If you are able?' Everything is possible for the person who believes!'"
Cal Pierce taught us, "healing is only difficult if you think you had something to do with it." (Spokane Healing Rooms Training Classes 2002). After 20+ years in the healing ministry I know he is right. The healing comes from the Healer. The Healer is within us. Learn how and why the Lord heals through this Scriptural Study on the Healer.
Smith Wigglesworth says, "I know that salvation, while it is a perfect work, is an insulation that may have any number of volts behind it. In the days when the bare wires were laid, when electric power was obtained from Niagara, I am told that there was a city whose lights suddenly went out. Following the wires, the repair man came to a place where a cat had gotten on the wires, and the lights had been stopped.
I find that a dynamo of heaven can be stopped with a smaller thing than a cat. An impure thought stops the circulation. An act can stop the growth of the believer.
So I find that if I am going to have all the revelations of Jesus brought to me, I must strive for all that God has for me through a pure and clean heart, right thoughts, and an inward affection toward Him. Then heaven bursts through my human frame, and all the rays of heaven flow through my body. Hallelujah! It is lovely!" (Smith Wigglesworth Devotionals, 1999)
