Peter Novelli’s journey to Roots and Blues began in Syracuse NY of all places. Starting to play the violin at 4, he eventually picked up a guitar. From a young age, Novelli listened to and learned blues and R&B from Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Texas.
After opening a show for Buckwheat Zydeco, Novelli was pulled down to his current home, New Orleans and continued to develop his sound.
His new album, LOUISIANA roots & blues is a wonderful follow-up to his debut album. I will chat with peter and talk about his journey as we listen to his music.
When Jarekus Singleton was 12 he was a benchwarmer for the basketball team he played for. Changing teams the next year, he won the Newcomer Of The year Award and helped his team get to the nationals. He then went on to play in high school and college.
How did he go from playing basketball and working to get on an NBA roster to just performing at the IBC for the third time?
I will chat with Jarekus about that and more as we listen to music from his latest, Heartfelt.
Then Couch Kid, Jeff Jensen returns with his brand new album and this will be the world premiere of Road Worn and Ragged. I am extremely honored and to share this new music with the world!
Jeff Jensen has been sharing his music with west coast blues fans for years now.
The Jeff Jensen band has been to the International Blues Challenge in 2005 representing the Santa Clarita Blues Society, 2006 representing the Pinetop Perkins Blues Society, and once again in the 2007 IBC representing Santa Clarita Blues Society.
Now Jeff has relocated to Memphis and he is already out playing with some of the best here in town.
We will chat with Jeff about his past, the new move and where he is heading in the future while listening to songs from his 2009 album, I'm Coming Home.
Then Lee Pons takes a seat on The Couch. Lee's original visit needed to be rescheduled.
Lee hails from the St. Petersburg, FL area and carries with him the sounds of New Orleans boogie piano wherever he goes.
Lee won "Best of the Bay" for Tampa Bay artists in 2009. In 2010, and 2011 he was a semi-finalist at the International Blues Challenge.
His Big Boogie Voodoo CD was released in 2010 and has garnered many accolades, even being a "Pick To Click" on BB Kings Bluesville.
How did the piano and Lee come together? What are his hopes for this year and next? I get to speak with Lee and we all get to hear music from Big Boogie Voodoo.
Come take a seat on The Couch and "Meet Musicians You Should Know"

DADIO'S LUNCH BUCKET RADIO CLINIC - Live this week yet again from Jeff's Coffee Bar
Dadio's Lunch Bucket has a little bit of everything. Live from the MY OFFICE JVL building, and sometimes on the road at local taverns and coffee shops, the Radio Clinic risks the perils of ad hoc radio. There is a working class blue-collar theme with local and regional interests that weave through the show. Some college degrees are mixed in. And, all along the way they try to give a voice to those ignored by the status quo. Somehow, they entertain us all in the process.
Segments include but are not limited to: Word Phrase; Fish Fry; Quiz; Blue-Collar Jobs; Wisconsin War Casualties; News and Comment; and..., Burgers.
You need to ask Dadio and his crew some questions..., the man comes with his own support group that is prepared and ready to pull him out of the holes he invariably digs himself into!
Call the show, play the quiz, win, make Dadio buy you a beverage at a local watering hole!
