This is Jeanette Purkis's radio show where she and invited guests talk about all things Autism. Jeanette is an Autistic author, advocate and public speaker and is passionate about empowering people on the Autism spectrum to live fulfilled and positive lives. Jeanette is a keen advocate for inclusion and appropriate support for people with Autism spectrum conditions in such areas as employment, education, parenting and access to health services.
This week, Jeanette is rather excited to be speaking with Autistic author, academic, and amazing advocate Dr Wenn Lawson. Wenn has written a number of books, including 'Sex, Sexuality and the Autism Spectrum', 'Friendships - The Aspie Way', the autobiography, 'Life Behind Glass' as well as many others. Wenn and Jeanette were both featured in the documentary 'Alone in a Crowded Room' and he speaks at conferences around the world. In this show, Jeanette will be speaking with Wenn about Autism, empathy and Theory of Mind and looking at alternate views. This promises to be a great show.
On Friday April 24 @ 9 pm Join Iya Awo Ifalola Mama Darlene Dawson Aka QueenMother4real for an in depth interview with the author of the book Secrets that Little Girls Hide . This book is a poignant and no nonsense story of abuse and neglect and the devastating effects and traumatic events that bring us front and center of her painful past.
This show is one of many. Every Friday we will host shows about protecting women and children from sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse and neglect. We can't change the world that created this abuse, until we change ourselves.
Call in number 347-989-0180 to speak out.
Join host Jesse Goldberg-Strassler and the voices of the Toronto Blue Jays' Minor League system for insights and anecdotes from a weather-addled first two weeks of the season. At Single-A Lansing, the Lugnuts sit atop their division thanks to dominance from Chase De Jong and Shane Dawson and a loaded offense. A-Adv. Dunedin's offense has been scuffling but Jairo Labourt and a strong bullpen are impressing early. The toast of Double-A New Hampshire is Matt Boyd, the Eastern League's best pitcher through three starts. And at Triple-A Buffalo, the first place Bisons have the best pitching staff in the International League. All this, plus talk about Alberto Tirado, Anthony Alford, and more. Use #AroundtheNest to send in your questions.
According to Wine Enthusiast magazine, in 2014 New York State ranked as the third most important wine-growing region in the US, after California and Washington state.
In this Interview, Rachel Bovard, a fellow upstate New Yorker and part-time employee at DCANTER, will share her impressions of the wines of the Finger Lakes. She is a Level 1 Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers and a Diploma Candidate in the Wine and Spirits Educators Trust (the pre-requisite for Master of Wine). During the discussion Rachel will make the case for cool climate grapes, stating that lighter tasting wines should merit no less consideration than warm climate wines in California and France.
Some of the wines and wineries she will touch on include a Cabernet Franc from Ravines Wine Cellars on Seneca Lake, a Cabernet Sauvignon from Casa Larga south of Lake Ontario, and a dry Gewurtztraminer from Herman J Wiemer. Others include a Cabernet Franc made from Finger Lakes grapes at the Oenology Winery in Brooklyn.
We will also note some of the tourist attractions in the area and the Finger Lakes Wine Festival July 10-12 where you can taste these wines for yourself! A good reference for the show is Evan Dawson's book on the region, "Summer in a Glass".

Our show host Gary Vaughan is an avid winery tourist and blogger of the Delmarva Winery and Brewery Journal.

1st Guests: Rebecca Bradley & Suzi Tyler.
Rebecca Bradley - Rebecca was successful but not always happy. Over the last two years her life has been totally transformed. From feeling lost, frustrated, disconnected & numb on a daily basis she has totally changed her perspective on life. Through a major health crisis and a crash course in learning Rebecca discovered a different kind of personal development.
Suzi discovered an amazing technique that could clear emotional issues quickly with EFT (tapping) through the Psychotherapy & Hypnosis Training Academy, Master Practitioner John Marshall-Redding and EFT Matrix Re-imprinting with Karl Dawson.
2nd Guest: Lee & Steven Hager, Authors
Lee and Steven, there is a separation between science and spirituality based on a dualistic approach that has robbed us of holism and presents a world view that is compartmentalized. It’s a divisive approach. As the Divine and the study of the universe are separated from each other.
3rd Guest: Emma Fairclough
After facing a number of tragic situations in her early years, Emma had to connect and keep re-connecting to the good in the world to keep her going. Her ability to look on the bright side and forgive led to her forming her company Emergise in 2007. Here she helps women from all over the world transition through major changes in their lives, by re-connecting them with their own energetic power within.
Are you having heart health issues and think drugs and surgery are the cure all? Do you have a heart 'condition' and you agree with the physician concensus to 'watch and wait'? What are you waiting for? How did you get in that situation? What can you do on other levels of your life to nurture or improve your heart health? Is it really that easy? Or is it so hard that you choose not to look at it and do something this lifetime?
Dr. David Johnson, MD is a board certified cardiologist and works with patients to find the root cause of disease. His training is both traditional and alternative which allows him to view the whole person in looking at symptoms and designing a treatment plan.
Dr. Dave will be sharing with Dr. Jeanette Gallagher, ND, board certified Naturopathic Physician about the energies in our body, our heart and spirit which can influence our overall health. The heart is not just an individual organ that works or when broken a drug can fix. The heart is the energy center of our body and along with the soul, spirit and mind, can influence our path in life.
