Jared Dillian, author of Street Freak A Memoir of Money and Madness joins host Robin Milling. Jared, who was a former trader at Lehman Brothers spent his first day on the job in Jersey City on 9/11 until it's final years. He tells Robin his time there was anything but rock star status; opting for Men's Warehouse suits instead of Prada and eating at his desk rather than spending hundreds of dollars at client lunches.
Jared says his competitive nature was suited to Wall Street but never imagined the difficulty from a psychological standpoint, burning out quickly before he was 40. On the other hand, Jared's battle with bipolar disorder which led to a suicide attempt, wasn't easily diagnosed as a trader's life is in essence a series of ups and downs. He candidly discusses how his time in hospital led to his career as a writer.
Jared currently writes a financial newsletter, The Daily Dirtnap www.dailydirtnap.com/ and is putting the final touches on a draft for his second novel.

Jared moved to the Pocono' in 2007 where he met and formed a friendship with HerPrettyGhost Co Founder Kway Sims. About two years later, a mutual firend of theirs introduced him to the Founder of HerPrettyGhost Vince. Vince explained the foundation for the idea of HerPrettyGhost and with Kway, they liked the idea and decided to start putting the logo of the ghost on shirts for fun. It started to become popular and the shirts began to become a hit seller. At this time, Jared became a little restless and felt that they should branch the brand out of the Poconos. He also wanted to further his education. Chicago was the place that he ended up in after a careful analysis and voting within the group. Julius, Kway, and Jared were all accepted into and attended Concordia University in River Forest, IL. After the first semester Kway could no longer attend the school and decided to go back to the Poconos to help Vince with the brand. By this time the brand had become more than just a design on the Tshrt. It shaped into a movement, a way for all people with a creative mind to express themselves. The story of HerPrettyGhost taught Jared about love, dedication, adn complete use of the imagiantion. One afternoon during what was supposed to be his last semester at the school. Jared got a cal from Kway infroming him that Vince had suddenly passed away. The news shook the entire HerPrettyGhost team to the core because the creator, Vince, the one who inspired us all was no longer her in the physical world. Still in grief, Jared and Kway, along with some other close colleagues decided to keep HerPrettyGhost alive in Vince's honor. Only a year has passed since that fateful day and the movement is in the process of gaining back the momentum lost during his death.
Jared is joined by his fraternity brother, Benjo (Hair Of The Dog on NYC's Lower East Side) to give tips on rush, recruiting a great pledge class, and how to prank your buddies.
