Instead of celebrating her crown, Ariana Miyamoto is already finding the need to defend it.
Japan's newest Miss Universe contestant broke barriers when she was recent chosen to represent her country. But because the 20-year-old is the daughter of a Japanese woman and a black man from America, some are questioning whether she really is Japanese enough to hold the title.
According to Japanese websites, comments on Twitter ranged from, "Is it okay to select a hafu to represent Japan?" to "Because this is Miss Universe Japan, don't you think hafu are a no-no." Hafu is a Japanese term used to refer to someone who is biracial.
In an interview with press, Miyamoto insisted that while she doesn't "look Japanese" on the outside, on the inside, there are many Japanese things about her.
In addition to being born and raised Nagasaki, the young adult also is a Japanese citizen who can speak the language fluently.
While some critics have been vocal about their hopes of having another contestant take her spot, others have shown their support for the newly crowned beauty queen.
Jane and her guest discuss the consequential moments of WWII as the Japanese highest military command wrestled with the Emperor on what solution was best for their country. They had the moral dilemma of not wanting to admit defeat vs. accepting the perilous doom that the U.S. was going to try to make it impossible for the Japanese not to surrender. Pride is one thing, death another but the casualty level became clear what decision to make. SouthEast Asia did not think that Japan paid a high enough price even with the two Atom bombs being dropped. Please tune in to this pivolal moment of history. Some of the revelations are based on the examination of the movie, "The Longest Day."

Mrs. Misa Kojima is not an ordinary Japanese woman. She has built a business in Nigeria years ago when no Japanese corporations operated in Nigeria as the Japanese government has warned Japanese citizens not to enter the country for years. She built a company called African Forest and bought dudu-osun soaps in Lagos and sold them to the extravagant Japanese cusmetics industory. She married to a Nigierian man but divorced, and she raises two boys as a single mother in Japan. Those children are mixed between Nigerian and Japanese. Needless to say, she endured hardships yet the hardships could not defeat her. She has always maintained optimistic views on her life because she knew she did not have to listen to the negative people. Currently she works for Ground-Castle Inc. that builds web-site. Let us ask her how she built business in Nigeria, what she thinks about the danger portrayed by the media, and the possibility lay ahead.
