Arizona CPS Exposed: What to give a CPS-Custody-Child for Christmas 2014

    in US Government

CPS custody-battle parents can still have a Christmas filled with joy, though sad and broken-hearted, as I would be too (www.blogtalkradio.com/paula-flowe/2014/12/08/arizona-cps-exposed-what-to-give-a-cps-custody-child-for-christmas-2014).

Facts for parents to consider to inspire choosing that perfect “gift” for their loved one:

19 US states allow educators to take a wooden board to strike the sons and daughters left in their care.

Among primary targets for this maltreatment are sons and daughters in foster care, as foster care parents often sign school policy forms to give the school permission to strike sons and daughters of grieving parents for their “misdeeds.”

Currently, there is available US federal legislation to ban the abuse of all school age American sons and daughters entitled “Ending Corporal Punishment in Schools Act,” HR 5005, crafted to prevent this maltreatment and other “legalized” forms of “pain-based behavior management” targeted at this population of disadvantaged American schoolchildren and teenagers.  A son or daughter, yours or someone elses, will be protected from this sanctioned abuse if the bill is passed into US federal law by Friday, January 2, 2015, 6 pm EST.

Contact us.  Say, “I want to give Johnny and Janie HR 5005 for Christmas.  What can I do to help.”

But, when she learns that she's got three months to live, she journeys back home to finish what she couldn't do when she left--kill her stepfather.
As the clock ticks away, Janie's uses the last days of her life to right the wrongs that have haunted her for 20 years. She faces more than she bargained for when she discovers her sister's life in shambles. Meanwhile her stepfather, recently released from prison, blackmails the sisters and plots to extract millions from the state in retribution.

Everything You Wanted to Know About Writing with 5-Time Author, Joan C. Curtis

    in Books

This week I talk with 5-time author Joan C. Curtis. On the heels of the release date of her latest book, her first novel, The Clock Strikes Midnight, Joan discusses her writing journey, the back story to her latest writing, and what aspiring writers should keep in mind. Learn from someone who has been there and done that!!!

Joan is an award-winning writer who has published 5 books and numerous stories. In her newest mystery/suspense novel, The Clock Strikes Midnight, we meet Janie Knox, a tormented young woman who escaped her home and family after a jury convicted her stepfather of killing her mother. Full of twists and turns, readers learn of a trail of long-hidden family secrets that plague the lives of both Janie and her older sister, Marlene. Not until the last page do all the secrets reveal themselves and the web of lies finally release its hold on the two sisters.

Joan has been an avid reader for as long as she can remember.  She reads all kinds of books, including women’s fiction, mysteries, biography, and nonfiction related to her work.  She does not read fantasy, horror or romance.  Her passion as a reader lies closer to literary writing with a commercial bent.

"I write about characters who remind me of myself at times and my sister at times, but never fully so. My stories are told from a woman's point of view with a destiny. Characters drive my writing and my reading."

Having grown up in the South with a mother from Westchester County New York, Joan has a unique take on blending the southern traditions with the eye of a northerner.  She spent most of her childhood in North Carolina and now resides in Georgia.
