Apparently the walking dead didn't reach your home. That's because you were warned. Tune into this encore presentation of "The Horror of Walker Point." It was a spooky Halloween night and our host, Mark H. Newhouse, was reading a delightfully chilling story by horror writer Billy Wells, when suddenly he was interrupted by urgent news, a real horror story that was taking place at a Walker Point radio station in Maine. Intended as a tribute to Stephen King and similar to the Orson Welles’ 1939 Halloween radio program, The War of The Worlds, The Horror of Walker Point by Anthony Marino, was a production of www.AudioComicsCompany.com. It was originally broadcast on All Hallows Eve by Maine Public Radio’s Rocky Coast Radio Theater. Author's Beat is grateful for the written permission of Producers William Dufris and Lance Roger Axt, as well as their associates at the Audio Comics Company for allowing us to share this event with our ghoulish worldwide listeners. Relax and enjoy this spookily fun return to the radio days of the past with your little kiddies. We did. (Evil laugh)

Clinical psychologist and author of Ponerology: The Science of Evil Adjusted for Political Purposes, Andrew Lobaczewski, coined the phrase "Pathocracy" that I used in the title of my book, American Heart of Darkness: The Transformation of the American Republic into a Pathocracy. What this term means to the American People and the rest of the world today, and what to do about it, is the subject of this half hour talk show.
As America enters its week of remembering the service of our veterans, it is worth remembering that not all veterans wore uniforms when they served the nation. One such example are the field operations personnel of the Central Intelligence Agency, whose very existence and service is denied as a matter of routine. In spite of the discretionary nature of their service however, these clandestine warriors have taken America and its military everywhere and has gone since 9/11, and are worth remembering as we approach Veterans Day.
To learn more about the warriors of CIA's Clandestine Service, join military historian, author and journalist John D. Gresham for Military Monday at 1 p.m. EST. His guests this week will be Gary Berntsen, a legendary CIA field operator and counterterrorism expert. Author of the book JAWBREAKER, Bernsten will be talking about his military and CIA service, along with his work in politics and Veterans Affairs since his retirement. Listeners are encouraged to call in and ask questions and offer opinions, should they desire.
