T.H.S: Parental Guidance - A Woman Can't Raise No Man

    in Entertainment

Tune in Tuesday, May 5th at 9:00 PM (est.) to T.H.S: Parental Guidance on Phone Fantasy Radio. Join hostess Lakrush Hearts for a candid discussion "Woman Can't Raise No Man". Mother's Day is coming this Sunday (May 10th) and we're taking a closer look at a viral video of a single mother caught displining her teenage son on live televison during coverage of the Baltimore riot & protest which he was in attendance. It has sparked a debate of whether or not a woman can raise a proper or "real" man. Let's dispel this stereotypical bias thinking once and for all.

  • Marriage and Family—The Ideals (Part 3)

    in Religion

Marriage is the mother of all human institutions, for it leads directly to home founding and home maintenance—the structural basis of society.  The differences between men and women, far from occasioning concern, should be regarded as highly beneficial to mankind.  Slowly but surely the mores change, and evolution succeeds in doing what even revelation fails to accomplish.

Human Trafficking - A Survivors Story - Michaela Floyd

    in Motivation

Michaela Floyd grew up in a very dysfunctional household. Her father was a preacher that eventually was kicked out of the church due to his alcohol abuse and was abusive to her mother. Michaela suffered through emotional, verbal and physical abuse at the hands of her father. Her mother finally left her father in Michaela’s late teens.

Dating was very difficult for Michaela because she felt that every man would be abusive but while in college she married an older man just to escape her chaotic life. Early in her marriage her husband was very controlling and for the most part she was compliant but when she wasn’t it resulted in extreme physical abuse. The abuse continued through the marriage and although Michaela never denied him sex, he began raping her in order to show his control over her.

After her husband began abusing drugs, they divorced & she moved to Nashville.  After seeking employment with no luck, she finally took a job as an erotic masseuse after being assured that she would not have to do anything she didn’t want to do.  She soon found out the company was owned by a prominent mafia family. She was trafficked in 11 states and 26 cities within a 3-month period. After finally being able to get back to Nashville and becoming an independent sex worker in order to support her family. But over the course of 15 months was able to rebuild a life for her family, attend counseling and eventually get out of the life.

Michaela has become active in speaking out and working with other survivors to reach out to women still trapped in trafficking and prostitution. Eventually, she would like to do this kind of work full-time, but for now God has opened many doors and she has been busy educating herself about this horrific evil. She feels very blessed to know so many survivors and to call them her sisters and friends.”

Talk Back Tuesdays: Hello Grief, Goodbye Sorrow! Its a New Day

    in Self Help

Celebrating Mothers Everyday! And what about the Baltimore mother yesterday? It's the month of May and Mothers have one day.  Women function in many roles that include, the secure, and sometimes-tumultuous task of Motherhood. Grief is a short word that describes variant degrees of loss.  It could be as simple as losing a favorite pair of shades, to disappointing a child by not keeping your word, then the ultimate losses, such as loosing a child.  The many hats of Mother (earth) can keep us moving so fast we can feel overwhelmed, emotionally burned out, and just plain ole tired.  Many of use are not able to identify grief as a source of angst, thereby unable to develop skills that allow healing of the heart.  Learning to identify grief can mean the difference between generational trauma, and having love, life, and laughter.  This week on talk back Tuesdays join 3 counselors and a couch as we begin the month of May dedicating issues of health and wellness to the Mothers of this earth.  Whether you have given birth to children, or given the responsibility of molding the mind of a child, its imperative our soil remain fertile without feeding them contaminants that pass throughout generations.  Come get on the Couch!
