This week we will have a special episode to give tribute to the life and legacy of Dr. and Mrs. Myles Munroe. On Novemer 9, 2014, Dr. and Mrs. Myles Munroe and seven others died in a fatal plane crash. The other victims of this tragedy are Dr. Richard Pinder, chief pilot Captain Stanley Thurston, Mr. Frahkan Cooper, youth pastors Mr. and Mrs. Lavard and Radel Parks, Mr. Johanan Parks, their unborn child, and Mr. Diego Santiago.
I truly believe that we should celebrate their lives and not mourn for them as Dr. Munroe had always spoken about emptying one's self before dying, and I really believe he lived out his mission. Dr. Munroe was a native from Bahamas and was considered an Evangelical Christian. He was ordained Penetecostal minister who founded and led the Bahamas Faith Ministries International (BFMI) and Myles Munroe International (MMI). He was the CEO and Chairman of the Board of the International Third World Leaders Association. In addition, he was the President of the International Leadership Training Institute.
His wife, Pastor Ruth Munroe was the President of the Women of Excellence Ministry at the Bahamas Faith Ministries Internatinal (BFMI). The late Mrs. Munroe was a woman of grace, wisdom, and strength. They have left two adult children behind, their son Mr. Myles Chairo Munroe, Jr. and their daughter Ms. Charisa Munroe.
Arrangements are being made for Dr. and Mrs. Myles Munroe as well as the other victims of the accident. Please show love and respect to the fallen leaders and warriors in the Christian faith. As we reflect on their lives, let us look to them to leave our own legacy behind.
Natalie Gelman was a street performing NYC troubadour who won over hearts across the country with her music, soulful voice and dynamic songwriting. She literally moved up from the subway to Carnegie Hall and many venues in between. And along the way she found herself in national publications like the NY Times and Billboard Magazine because of it. Often compared to Sheryl Crow, Joni Mitchell and Jewel, Natalie is an artist in her own right - called “Simply Terrific” by the NY Post and named the “poster girl for the solo, storytelling singer/songwriter” by Music Connection Magazine. Best of all, she joins us on Music FridayLive! this Friday.
Alex Nester brings back the art of real, live un-moduilated music-making with hot blues that makes you shake and shimmy and cool vocals that do a slow burn in your ears. A bout with cancer as a teen has helped shape her unique sound filled with messages of love, faith, positivity, and healing while channeling the retro soul artists of the 60’s and 70’s. Her resume already includes 12 albums, countless jingles, and over 25 theatrical productions, as well as working with established musicians such as Carlos Santana, Stevie Wonder, The Four Tops, The Fifth Dimension, Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons, Desi Arnaz, Jr., Alphonse Mouzon, Brandon Fields, and Eric Marienthal.. Plays hard and late and she joins us Friday.
