Behind the Scenes at IWS Radio

    in Comedy

Putting together a show that attracts a vast and diverse worldwide audience is a monumental task. Few people know the real struggle and effort it really takes though. This week Matt-Man and Jayman will take you behind the scenes of IWS Radio and give you a little glimps into the world if big-time internet radio.

Oh sure on the surface it all looks so glamorous. The fame, fortune, groupies and all the love and adoration from the fans. But, there's a dark side to internet radio too. The long hours Matt and Jay have to put in. The writes and re-writes of scripts trying to get it all perfect. The intense, seemingly never-ending prep sessions. THE PRESSURE!! Internet radio isn't for everybody.

And what of the IWS Players? Matt and Jay are such exacting taskmasters that the pressure on the Players is almost too much to take some weeks. Everyone at IWS Radio is so talented that the competition is fierce to get audios on the air. People put in so much effort tying to come up with something that will be acceptable to Matt and Jay that sometimes they break. The emotional toll can just be too much.

You will be amazed at everything you learn about the making of a hugely popular internet radio show. And, more importantly, you'll have a new found respect for Matt and Jay and the effort it takes to bring you this show every week. Plus, as always ... YOUR CALLS ... because the fans are the heartbeat of IWS Radio!

Hell no! Our solution is to just do the show in prime time baby!

So join us and our correspondents like Paul Piatt, Bobby Kraft, Joshua, Slyder, Tammy Tibbles and others for non-stop fun and games! Also, those phone lines will be open as always for you to call in with whatever is on your mind too!

IWS Radio isn't Dead, it Just Smells Funny

    in Comedy

There's too much and not enough going on in the world right now. Well, at least in Matt-Man and Jayman's worlds. So, Matt and Jay are just hanging out shootin' the breeze and talking about whatever they think of this week. Maybe they'll touch on politics or sports or pop culture or just do some navel gazing. Who knows? One thing we do know is it will be funny. Probably.

April is National Poetry Month so there will be some rhyming going on and maybe even some hot haiku action! You just never know with these two talented and irreverent guys. Matt and Jay are obsessed with so many things yet they are very easily distracted. You have to pay close attention or you'll get lost trying to keep up wtih them.

There might be some trips down memory lane too. Matt and Jay and the gang might revisit some old ideas like "The Third Person Show" or maybe "The NPR Show." Or maybe they won't! That's just how wacky those two are! There will also be bad songs of the week and a discussion about Jayman's sudden love of punk rock and Frank Zappa.

Canadian Bureau Chief Jamie Mapleleaf and the IWS Players will be along to help entertain the masses. They've got a blank canvas this week and I know you can't wait to see what these artists paint this week. We know it won't be a boring old landscape and there won't be any happy little accidents! Plus they'll be taking your calls! The phone lines are always open at 661.244.9852!

Music: The Good, The Bad, and The Memorable

    in Comedy

Jay, Matt, and the IWS Radio Comedy Band love to listen to music and are banging out a wall-to-wall celebration of music. Jay and Matt play bits and pieces of some great songs, songs that stir up personal memories, and most of all, songs that are so horrendous that they are cringe-inducing and hilariously awesome.

Buddy Acapella, Bobby Kraft, Rev. Moneymaker, and Guy Ahnyurdyck may step up to the mic as well and sing some of their favorite tunes. So join IWS Radio live and call-in at 661.244.9852 as IWS Radio celebrates Music: The Good, The Bad, and The Memorable.

The 2015 Atlantic Hurricane season kicks off this week as well, so they'll throw out plenty of preparation tips that may or may not save your life.  And as always, Jay and Matt will discuss the latest headlines from around the world with a cynical and satirical eye, and take your calls at 661.244.9852.

Man Meat, Horse Meat, and Tequila

    in Comedy

There is a Tex/Mex-sized steak number of things going on. The annual NFL Slave Trade is taking place. The happily running for the roses horses are trying to win the Kentucky Derby, and Americans eveywhere are gleefully awaiting to don their sombreros, drink tequila, and celebrate Cinco de Mayo in honor of folks whom they refuse to let into their country. And...

Jay, Matt, and the IWS Radio team break it all down for you. IWS offers NFL Draft analysis, recap the Derby, and preview the Cinco de Mayo celebration as they drink Mexican beer, and make fun of the French army.

In addition to that, Jay and Matt discuss Supreme Court gay marriage oral arguments, the Baltimore riots, and take your phone calls at 661.244.9852 as IWS Radio presents: Man Meat, Horse Meat, and Tequila.

Make it a Memorial Day to Remember

    in Comedy

It's Memorial Day weekend y'all and it's time to get all somber and reflect on all those who gave all for this great country. They are the best America has to offer and IWS Radio truly thanks them for their sacrifice. Unlike the NFL we don't even have to get paid by the Pentagon celebrate America's veterans.

Memorial Day is also a great time to get some good deals on mattresses, sofas, cars, summer clothes and all kinds of other items you didn't even know you needed. What better way to honor America's fallen soldiers than by going out and buying stuff probably made in Asia and putting it on your credit card or financing it? We can't think of any either. That's what America is all about!

And it's the unofficial kickoff to summer! So get those grills out and clean 'em up so you can cook your hot dogs, brats and hamburgers. Matt and Jay might have some grilling tips for patriotic Americans looking to honor veterans who died in defense of this great country by getting drunk and chowing down on fatty foods.

Canadian Bureau Chief Jamie Mapleleaf and the IWS Players will be here too. No telling what they've been up to this week, but we're sure it's something brilliant and appropriate for the occasion. Plus we lost David Letterman this week and Matt and Jay are devastated. They'll talk about their favorite memories of their friend and colleague and his life. All this plus YOUR CALLS at 661.244.9852! Do it for America!!!
