Bye bye and die marriage-equality blog

    in Politics Progressive

Coming up on 12 years, my first political blog, Marry in Massachusetts, is going on hiatus. I'd long figured to shut it down when we had legal same-sex marriage nationwide. It's time.

I'll cover politics here, a bit in my personal blog, Harrumph, and at Left Ahead. In this show, I'll declare a victory for equality. This is the right kind of collateral damage from yesterday's SCOTUS decision.

I'll talk about that ruling and touch on the majority and dissenting views. I've already done basic analysis on it at Marry in Massachusetts. It's a relief with a tinge of sadness in saying goodbye to the familiar.

    BEHIND THE RED DOOR~

What will you find behind the red door? Will it be humour? Or will it be horror? Will you find stories both modern and fictional or will you find the end of the world? Perhaps it will be all theses things and more. Because if there is one thing you can say about author Clayton Clifford Bye it is that he loves to jump from one genre to the next. His writing is eclectic, his style as variable as his stories and the content is consistently 5 out of 5 stars. So, come .... walk with him through the red door into places you would never have imagined and that will give you reason to pause and think and feel. Come ... Open the door.

Conservative Underground - The Constitutional Cloudburst

    in Politics Conservative

Your listening to the Saturday Matinee - otherwise known as the "Weekend Radio Deli" ....

The last colum to fall was the first to give way - good bye Judiciary. The Supreme Court has jumped the shark this past week and it's going to take the battle of a lifetime to right the ship of state. Do we have it in us ? Can the Republican Party once again  serve as the vehicle to save this Grand Republic ? Are we as Conservatives a movement without a Party ?

If the lead topic wasn't enough - there is more on this edition of the Conservative Underground!

32 For 32: San Diego Chargers

    in Sports

One of the strangest teams we saw last season was the San Diego Chargers. They had one of the weirdest seasons I can recall in recent years, & one of the weirdest in franchise history. They were 5-1 before everything came crashing down, including the kitchen sink. After losing Week 1, they won 5 straight, then lost in the final minutes to division rival Kansas City, then another loss to another division rival Denver, then an embarrassing 37-0 beatdown at the hands of Miami. At that point, you would've thought the bye week couldn't had come at a better time. So then they return to action winning 3 straight (all 3 were very close games, including a dramatic finish in Baltimore), but lose at home to a New England team in they had the momentum against in the first half. Then another loss to Denver nearly pushed them off the cliff for a playoff spot. But if you thought the Baltimore win was impressive, what they did in San Francisco will go down in the history books. All they had to do was beat Kansas City & they had a shot for a wildcard spot. Well that didn't happen, & during the off-season rumors began to spread about the possibility of quarterback Phillip Rivers reuniting w/ former offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt (now Titans head coach) in Tennessee. Well, that didn't happen either & w/ tight end Antonio Gates's, time iomments about the "window closing", time is ticking on the Chargers. This team from 2004 to 2009 was the most talented team in football. Those years are so long gone that I have no idea was this team will look like in 2015. But do the duo of Rivers & Gates have enough in them to make one more run in the playoffs? We'll discuss it in another in installment of "The Rocket Sports Breakdown" Thursday morning @ 10:30am. Rocket Nation, get ready for a power trip.

"Last Words" (Jory Fisher & Kim Crabill)

    in Women

Life is full of good-byes. A child grows up and leaves for college or military service. A neighbor moves to another state. A loved one is dying. Sometimes we face seasons when we must say good-bye to security and safety, to prosperity, to a cherished dream. One of the rich ministries we can have in people’s lives is to know the words to speak at such times. Jory and Kim Crabill explore the kinds of “last words” that can keep a person grounded and moving forward with hope even though the future holds a lot of unknowns.

Kim Crabill is founder and president of Roses and Rainbows Ministries, Inc., and Community COFFEEs, the author of several books, including Burdens to Blessings, and a nationally known speaker.  For more information about Kim Crabill and her ministries, visit www.rosesandrainbows.org.
