Islam The True Religion of Peace and Compassion - part2

    in Islam

I would like to turn towards an issue of great importance and of which there is an urgent need to deliberate and talk about in today’s world. What I wish to discuss is something that has caused Islamaphobia in the Western and non-Muslim. There can be no doubt that this state of fear and anxiety has been fuelled by the acts of certain so-called Muslims or so-called Muslim groups. However there is also no doubt, that the acts of terrorism or extremism they perpetrate have nothing whatsoever to do with the true teachings of Islam. The very meaning of ‘Islam’ is peace, security and giving a guarantee of protection against all forms of harm and evil. Indeed, the Holy Quran declares that this is the teaching that every single Prophet of God taught.
Islam requires Muslims to abide by its teachings and fundamental amongst them is that they must not only fulfil the rights owed to God Almighty, but just as importantly they must also fulfil the rights owed to God’s Creation. The Quran has shined a bright light on the beauty of the teachings of all Prophets by making it clear that they all drew mankind’s attention to fulfilling the rights owed both to God and to His Creation.
How then could it be possible, that on the one hand, God has praised the qualities of all religions for urging mankind to fulfil the rights of God and of man, yet on the other hand God could enjoin the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), upon whom the Great Book was revealed, to not establish peace and security in the world? How could it be possible that they were instructed to cause destruction and to destroy the peace and security of the world? Certainly no wise person could ever accept this.

    Guest Interivew with Amer Ahmed

    in Education

Amer Ahmed is scholar, intercultural diversity consultant and college administrator. He is also an acclaimed spoken word poet and Hip Hop activist. His engaging multi-media presentations, which include "Islam: Beyond the Myths, Breaking Down the Barriers," are truly transformative, addressing a range of critical questions that are especially important in the current climate of prejudice and bigotry toward Muslim people in the United States:   What are the tenants of the faith and who are its followers?     What implications does a lack of knowledge of Islam and Muslims in the United States have on our campuses, in our workplaces and communities? How do advocates for diversity, social justice and inclusion challenge the dominant narratives about Muslims framed by popular media? Born in Springfield, Ohio, to Indian Muslim immigrants, Amer has dedicated his life to engaging and facilitating diversity across human difference. During Graduate School at Indiana University, Amer became integrally involved in the Hip Hop Congress, the largest grassroots Hip Hop organization in the United States (www.hiphopcongress.com).   Amer served as Director of Intercultural Programs at Loras College in Dubuque, IA, and later at Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.  His education, global experience and prominent role in the Hip Hop Congress assisted him in addressing pressing issues of diversity on these campuses. He served as an Associate Instructor and PR Officer for the Muslim Student Union (during 9/11) and helped open up important discussion and dialogue regarding Islam in a post-9/11 context, both in the world and in the U.S. Amer strives to be an inspiration to young people who see purpose in the pursuing of their ideals. He stresses the need to identify one's own talents and abilities to reach positions in which we can enact what he calls "Realistic Idealism."

    Birthday Week Special-Iraq War lies

    in Politics

On Monday night, NBC News aired its new documentary, Hubris: Selling the Iraq War, based on the book by David Corn and Michael Isikoff. The film offered a number of shocking truths  since the original 2007 book was published.
While it may be maddening --- particularly for those of us who followed the massive scam as it was ongoing --- the documentary should be mandatory viewing for those who have lost sight of just how each and every single one of the key reasons used to sell the U.S. on war with Iraq was built on known lies. Each and every point --- from Saddam's alleged ties to al-Qaeda, to his alleged mobile chemical labs, to his alleged nuke program, to those aluminum tubes said to have been for use in uranium enrichment, to the "fissile material" (yellowcake) he was said to have been trying to obtain from Niger --- was a lie. And each an every lie was known to be a lie by the scoundrels and war criminals who sold it to the American public and a compliant American media.
Ever since 2003,the start of the Iraq War I have been protesting, this war based off lies.I can not tell you how many deceived people I argued with.I now know that the idiots outnumber the people with common sense.Fueled by racism,Islamaphobia and greed, this nation sent our troops into a war for oil.
Now after 10 years the media is finally, telling America what many of us already knew.i see why so many Americans hate this government. While I do not condone violence,a radical change is in order.
When are we going to learn, that both parties are just as crooked. Both lie,and are corporate puppets, and proxies for the highest bidder. They have sold their soul to the devil. They need our blood to feed their greed for the "New World Order".
I'll be hosting the show tonight.I had to fire Joe for acts unbecoming of a guest host.So call in and join the show. The chat room is open.
