SORT BY Relevancy
For he grew up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
He was despised, and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and as one from whom men hide their face he was despised; and we esteemed him not.
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53: 2-5
Come now, let us reason together....from the Word of God.
Is a life of wellness possible? Yes it is. It is seen in the Word of God. The Word of God sets forth clearly the Finished Work of the Cross.
Isaiah 53 is a classic passage about that Work.
In Isaiah 53:4 we find the words, 'griefs' and 'sorrows'. These are not the correct translation from the Hebrew. What is meant in this verse is healing for the body, not the emotions.

It is common for us to quote Isaiah 53 for physical healing "By His Stripes We Are Healed" (v5); However, I'd like to explore this Scripture and see WHAT HEALING those stripes represent.
We will READ the Word of GOD beginning in John 3 and we will read 1 John 5 and Isaiah 53 (not necessarily in that order). Please join us as we delve into GOD'S WORD and learn what JESUS' stripes REALLY DID FOR US.

BSW - Episode 7 - Bible Study on Isaiah 53:1 - Pastor Bryan S Webber
As many of us know, the central belief of Christianity is that Jesus Christ died for our sins. The main Old Testament verses Christians use to promote this is Isaiah 53:4, 12. Plainly stated, these verses are saying that a righteous and innocent man would die for sins he himself did not commit. However, non-messianic believers reject this doctrine. They cite verses like Deuteronomy 24:16 and Ezekiel 18:2 as proof that this teaching, and therefore the New Testament, is false. But do these verses really contradict the idea of Jesus Christ dying for our sins? Today, Saturday, October 31, 2015, tune in LIVE at 4:30 P.M. EST on blogtalkradio to hear, “THE ISAIAH 53 CONTROVERSY VOL 2.: COULD JESUS CHRIST DIE FOR OUR SINS?”
Crimes against humanity are certain acts which are committed as part of a widespread or systematic attack directed against any civilian population or an identifiable part of a population. The first prosecution for crimes against humanity took place at the Nuremberg Trials.

“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword. 53 Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?”
55 In that hour Jesus said to the crowd, “Am I leading a rebellion, that you have come out with swords and clubs to capture me? Every day I sat in the temple courts teaching, and you did not arrest me. 56 But this has all taken place that the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples deserted him and fled.
