Author Chit Chat with Sunny Giovanni of The Girls in Tha Hood and Snitch Series

    in Books

In southern Dallas, Texas, Sunny Giovanni-- or "Gio" as she likes to be called-- was born on the fifth day of June in 1989. Born to a mother who was a teacher and a graduate from Texas A&M University you couldn't so much as watch a Disney movie if you hadn't read the book beforehand. Gio has had a very strong history with literature, diversifying from poetry (winning placements in oratorical contests), to thriller short stories as a way to vent her frustrations.

The pen was handed down to her from an older sibling as a means to focus her negative energy and anger into something different but was used as a way to alter her own situations.
As a preteen Gio witnessed how much her writing could touch someone when she left one of her prized spirals in a classroom without knowing. Two weeks after it went missing someone brought it back to her asking for more, letting the young author know that almost everyone she knew read the story, but without knowing it was her in the story she had written.
Sunny Giovanni is an advocate for gay and transgender rights, and says: "You can't help who you are and you damn sure can't help who you love. You should be true to who are rather than to conform and live the ultimate lie and live miserably until the day you die." Credited from the poem she penned "Titanium", modeled after her novel.
Gio is a mother of three children, the founder of Lucid Legends Publishing/ Photography, Kno Joke Entertainment, the host of "We Talk TOO Much Radio" on BlogTalk Radio and blogs on Tumblr under the name "KnoJokeGio". She is a friend to many and prides herself on making a smile out of an extremely horrible day. "It doesn't matter if you're having a bad day... a smile could make everything else seem so small. Crack a joke when someone is hurt and see how fast they cheer up.

    in Books

The Beautiful Butterfly Show Welcomes Author Leah Rogers!!

Leah was raised in a hostile environment where her mother was at the time a heavy drug user and regularly physically abused by men in front of her children.  After being awarded to the state, she found herself running away on numerous occasions.  Leah began stripping to maintain a living for her daughter. It was there that she'd met her boyfriend that monthes later exposed himself as a pimp.

Leah worked as a prostitute and "Bottom girl" around the United States, mainly California, Scottsdale, Arizona, Washington, D.C and Texas for almost Three years, while being beaten brutally by her pimp even after she became pregnant with his son.

On May 13th, 2011 Leah was arrested with her pimp, when her pimp was discovered recruiting two under age girls, who were Undercover FBI Agents.  After being tried as a suspect and signing a plea for seven years, Leah was given a second chance to prove her innocent about her involvement with her pimp.

After turning her life around for the better, on March 4th, 2015 she shared her story with CBS News titled "A Better Arizona" broadcasted locally on television.  After this airing, Leah began to get anxious about saving other women who were still in the game and created a video for her Facebook channel.  Leah is now known around the world for her video traveling through social media at just under one million views.

Leah's dream has always been to sell high valued real estate, but has dedicated her time to finish the mission to save other women by educating the community, churches, legislature and schools, to prevent this tragedy from happening to their loved ones.

People's Free Medical Research Health Clinics

We believe that the government must provide, free of charge,
for the people, health facilities that will not only treat our illnesses, most of which are a result of our oppression, but that will also develop preventative medical programs to guarantee our future survival. We believe that mass health education and research programs must be developed to give all Black and oppressed people access to advanced sCienti c and medical information, so we may provide ourselves with proper medical attention and care.

Point Six of the Black Panther Party Program's Platform of March 29, 1972, explains the reasons for the institution ofthe People's Free Medical Research Health Clinics, which provide free medical treatment and preventative medi cal care for the community. Private hospitals and doctors charge fees far more expensive than poor people can a ord, while public hospitals and clinics are so overcrowded and understa ed that their services are almost totally inade quate. The People's Free Medical Research Health Clinics o er an alternative to this problem.

The clinics provide comprehensive health care for the community. Doctors treat  patients for common physical ailments and refer them to spe cialists if necessary. Laboratory testing is also provided in conjunction with local hospitals.

Along with the Sickle-Cell Anemia Research Foundation, the clinics con duct testing and research for a cure for sickle-cell anemia.

Child health is a serious problem in the Black community, and the clinics have developed a ChildHealth Care Program to meet this community need. The Child Health Care Program provides immunizations; screening and sickle cell anemia iron de ciency anemia, and tuberculosis; referrals; and complete physi cal examinations as well as treatment of illnesses."
