Celebrate Dan's Victory Ride
Support TBI Rehabilitation Research at Kessler Foundation
After his injury, Dan relearned the basics that most of us take for granted—walking, talking, and reading at Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. He worked hard to regain his ability to think, learn, and remember. His therapists at Kessler Institute used intensive therapies, many developed by the scientists at Kessler Foundation.
With the support of our donors, we at Kessler Foundation make a direct and profound impact on the lives of people like Dan—people disabled by diseases and injuries of the brain and spinal cord. Our breakthrough research improves cognition, mobility, and long-term outcomes. Our funding of disability employment initiatives provide access to job opportunities, education, transportation and job training.
Dan's story is just one example of how your support can improve the lives of people with disabilities. Celebrate Dan's victory ride by making a gift today—a gift that will help others gain independence. Every dollar of your donation directly supports our misson to change the lives of people with disabilities.

Transitioning into the community after a brain injury has enough personal bouts of their own with physical and/or neurological impairments. Getting assistance is very dificult where we can go, who to talk to, and finding people who understand. Family and friends many times don't have the patience. Government offices don't have much to offer to people with cognitive disabilities. State brain injury centers have a limited amount of resources to offer or don't communicate well with many individuals.
Lisa Dryer and Michael Idell have both lived in different parts of the country since having their brain injuries. They have found a number of people in their support groups nationally who have had all of these problems and more. They advocate for change and would like to get the word out to medical professionals by survivors, caregivers and the public who are knowledgable with the disabled community.
Please join us and speak together in a positive, uplifting atmosphere to share and tell our stories. We are alive and have accomplished so much. Let's start educating the public that we do exist and to keep an open mind this could be anyone we know at any given moment.
People with visible and non-visible physical disabilities are reminded constantly by advertisements that able-bodied persons are beautiful, productive, and successful. It was not so long ago that people of color experienced this lack of inclusion and were not portrayed with positive images. Unfortunately, the ongoing protests in the media make it clear that the perceptions held about People with Disabilities, as well as Blacks and other Non-White groups is still in need of change. Supermodel Beverly Johnson is our Special Guest and will share a unique perspective of how perceptions of beauty and disability can be changed. Our goal at White Apple Institute is to encourage positive images and perceptions that will enhance education and workforce success for Persons with Disability.Listen to Veterans with VET2VET Talk at the close of every show. Greetings Listerners, Jorg Glisman of "Hour of the Truth" will be co-hosting with me. Jorg is from Belgium, so we can get a European view of the visit on September 23, 2015 of the pope's visit to a Joint Session of Congress. Will be covering a booklet "The Vatican Jesuit Global Conspiracy" by Ronald Cooke written in 1985
"Rulers of Evil" author Tupper Saussy Chapter 9 page 74. America's understanding has been systematically bent to the will of the Church Militant, while the intellectual means for sensing the capture have been disconnected. Most of the content of modern media, whether television, radio, print, film, stage, or web is state-of-the-art Jesuit ratio studiorum. The Jesuit college is no longer just a chartered institution; it has become our entire social environment-the movies, the mall, the school, the home, the mind. Human experience has become a Spiritual Exercise managed by charismatic spiritual directors who know how to manipulate a democracy's emotions. Logic, perspective, national memory, and self-discipline are purged to the point that "unbridled emotional responses," as economist Thomas Sowell put it, "are all we have left."

We live in a world that thinks human rights end where psychiatry begins. But which came first, the deprivation or the diagnosis? In 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights recognized that every human being needs certain fundamental protections in order to live, develop and thrive as a member of the human community. In 2006, the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities applied these same protections to psycho-social disabilities. So.... What protections do we need as human beings? What affect does this have on mental well-being? What happens if we live our lives unprotected? How good is our society at looking out for us? What is the effect of being repeatedly violated or disregarded as a human being? Is psychiatry selling us a bill of goods that's distracting from the real issues? Why are we treating individuals if our whole society is sick? Would we better off focusing on human rights recovery than mental health recovery?
