Jonathan Pearson is one of the rising stars in the millennial church leadership space. He's the pastor at Cornerstone Community Church in Orangeburg, SC (major suburb of Columbia) and Assistant Director of The Sticks, an organization that empowers small town leaders. He's also co-creator of www.MillennialLeader.com and author of a newly-released book, 'Next Up: 8 Steps Great Young Leaders Make'.
One of the most pressing shifts (and it's one he highlights in the book) I think we all believe is absolutely crucial that we make as a nation -- and more importantly, as a church -- is from entitlement to honor. Jonathan talks about how we make that shift as leaders in our churches and homes and model it for the next generation. He's also very in tune with the challenges the next generation of Christian leaders (many of whom are millennials) are facing as they take the baton from the giants that have led us through the last few decades and are now in the twilight of their cultural influence.
The complete list of shifts is below and, as you can see, there are a number that should really resonate with the church. Dissension to cooperation comes to mind as we argue amongst ourselves not only about the 'non-essentials' in our own house, but publicly, about cultural issues and movements.
Passive to passionate is one that will strike a chord with a great many men.
