Behavioral Health EHRs: The New Model for Integrated Care Technology

    in Psychology

Our guest today is Brook West, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Valant -- one of the leading Behavioral Health EHRs.As the Behavioral Health market moves toward direct integration with primary care we turn our focus toward EHR software vendors that are already using new technology to deliver solutions.Vendors that have superior credibility and credentials in Behavioral Health, attract quality leadership, and possess an unparalleled infrastructure. Our listeners know that Behavioral Health is our passion. .

Read the full blog article HERE.

What problems does the Valant platform purport to solve for Community Behavioral Health and the Medicaid market?

How is the Valant platform designed to solve these problems?

How is Valant uniquely positioned to bring value to this market?

Why can’t current Electronic Health Record vendors do what Valant is doing?

What about security in cloud architecture?

Some of the criteria at everythingEHR for for choosing a EHR vendor is that the CEO must be a clinician, the company must have Behavioral Health providers, former insurance auditors, software engineers, etc. on staff. What is Valant's stance on this?

There is a great blend of culture at Valant with male and female leadership. This has always impressed us. Why has Valant kept this kind of culture going?

What is Valant's stance on where Behavioral Health technology is headed?

Valant started with 3 people on staff in 2005. Where are you with staff now?

If you could share one thing with the Community Behavioral Health Market, what would it be?

Driving Employee Engagement in Health Care & Well-being

    in Business

On this program, hosts Ron Bachman and Doug Field talk with special guests from Viverae, Accolade and Jiff.

The first guest is Jeff Brizzolara, PhD, MPH, chief clinical officer for Dallas-based Viverae. As a thought leader and subject matter expert in the area of total population health management, Dr. Brizzolara will join the hosts for an in-depth discussion on the cost of chronic diseases to employers and why every employer should consider implementing a disease management component to their wellness program.

For the second segment, Rob Cavanaugh, president of field operations at Accolade, joins the program to discuss the findings of their latest health care consumer Harris Poll survey. This survey is a state of the union on the health care consumer -- and it’s not a pretty picture. People are confused and not able to manage their health care properly. In fact, people are more comfortable buying a home or car than they are navigating their medical benefits and today’s health care system. Less than half of consumers are using the services and tools available to them through their health plan or employer. Eighty percent of consumers say it would be valuable to have a single, trusted source to help them with all their health care needs.

The third guest will be Mary Cain, senior director of clinical strategy and behavior change at Jiff. Mary has spent over 20 years developing health and well-being solutions across the care continuum. In this segment, we discuss what really motivates people to change and how to leverage behavior change science in your employee health and well-being programs. Learn how Mary and her team at Jiff help their customers meet employees where they are, offer benefits that are truly a benefit and improve health and productivity among their populations.

Mental Health Care for War Survivors

    in War

This episode focuses on the numerous challenges trauma survivors face in fragile and vulnerable regions of the world, especially in countries emerging from armed conflict and war. In post-war regions, many victims of violence, war and torture who suffer from severe posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) are likely to have their rights violated, and are often left unprotected from, and exposed to, a continuum of violence perpetrated against them. Through the assistance of mental health care, many individuals have been able to find ways of healing from the atrocities committed against them. With the understanding of the needs of victims, many activists have also been advocating for laws and mandates to better protect the most vulnerable. In this episode, we will talk to Dr. Ken Wilcox, who has had the opportunity to work on the ground in many post-war countries, particularly in Cambodia, in order to get a first-hand account of the benefits of mental health and its implementation in nations effected by violence perpetrated not only by non-state actors, but also by their own governments.

Join the conversation "live" with Dr. Ken Wilcox, Clinical Psychologist, Advocate and Philanthropist from Miami Beach. Florida, and make your views known to the world.

Tune in by calling +1- (323) 642-1236 on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 2 PM in Eastern Time (New York time, U.S.A.) to listen to the show and add your voice to the discussion.
