We all have one - that voice that speaks up and stops us from moving forward. That voice that tries to convince us that we don't have what it takes to - fill in the blank.
While we can't get rid of it, we can learn how to move past it.
Join Michelle Hollinger as she shares how to take control of your inner voice.
There are many names for the inner critic: the ego, the inner child, the critical parent or even the “parasite”. What is the inner critic? How is it created? What are the implications of its presence? Can we get rid of it? Are there benefits to its existence? In this enlightening show, Aleka gets up close and personal with the inner critic by calling it out of the shadows of our mind and bringing it into the light of awareness.

Barb welcomes guest Marni Spencer-Devlin, whose powerful life journey is one you
need to witness. This episode begins with Marni’s heartfelt story of addiction, abuse
and low self-esteem and how her personal experience with her inner critic actually
rought her back to life.
Ms. Spencer-Devlin says all of us have an inner critic, and it exists to help us survive.
According to Marni, your inner critic is to be understood and embraced for what it is,
not discounted or feared. One of the inner critic’s primary roles is to kick into high
gear when we are pushing beyond our comfort zones, such as when we are making
a big change in our lives, whether that change is losing weight, learning a new skill,
beginning a new job, or developing new relationships.

“I’ve been a Caroline Sutherland fan ever since the first moment I met her in the ’90s. In fact, she fulfilled a dream of mine. At our first meeting, Caroline looked at me, clearly saw my deficiencies and nutritional needs, and on the spot designed a special plan for my particular body. I felt understood for the first time.”

Every moment we live in the field of infinite possibilities with infinite choices. Learning to be a witness in our own lives and understanding the choices we are making all the time will help us to choose to make those choices from a space that feels comfortable and peaceful to us. Join Nancy Gentle Boudrie as she explores how to be a conscious choice maker of inner peace in the midst of challenges, joys, and day-to-day living.
“Peace of mind is not a goal I need achieve. It’s a place inside I never want to leave. Close my eyes, I still my thoughts and then I say I will choose to live in peace today.” – Robert Alan
Do you want to have the life of your dreams, but sometimes (or a lot of the time) think it seems impossible? Does thinking about your goals incite fear, anger, jealousy, worry, doubt, or a host of other challenging emotions?
You are not alone!! These emotions stem from the inner critic that is telling us we will be judged, we will be laughed at, we will never succeed, so why try? And THAT right there is the shaming process. Toxic shame develops over years of not being supported or encouraged by caregivers, teachers, friends, or family. And we tend to take it on as our own and continue the freefall of painful criticism inside our own heads: "You're too fat, you're too old, you're too young, you're too (fill in the blank)."
It can be enough to seriously paralyze someone! Let's all join together and tell that inner critic we hear it, we see it, and we let it go. And we are willing to TALK about what is going on with us, rather than letting the shame keep us silent and playing small. We all have SO much talent to share with the world, and the time is now to unleash your magic and medicine. It is time to let your inner light shine!
Welcome to Episode 27 of our Online Marketing Cafe podcast.
For our Appetizer section, this week, we talk about a discussion we had earlier in the week with Christine about why no-one was clicking on the links she was posting in her tweets... Meredith rants suitably!
For our Entree we are delighted to introduce a very special guest Chef, Kathleen Hannigan of turnonyourlight.com who is going to be talking with Meredith about how, as a business person, you need to be able to silence that inner critic if you are to ever get to that place you have always dreamed of getting to. A great conversation.
For our Dessert this week we Jasper talks about a very cool new research tool from Google called Databoard, which allows you to drill deeply into research on how consumers are using smartphones and other portable screen technology as part of their buying process. If you have a brick and mortar store you need to know this sooner rather than later. The tool lets you create shareable infographics that represent the specific information you are interested in. Check it out for yourselves at think.withgoogle.com/databoard/ If you have a question, or an idea for a guest interview, contact Meredith at Meredith@thelaunchladies.com

All too often we are sucked into feeling sensations that spawn stress such as deadlines, too many tasks and the desire to fix things. Join Nancy Gentle Boudrie as we explore how to detach from being drawn into the drama and instead choose to methodically greet each moment. Everything can only be achieved one moment at a time one step at a time so why not live with that as our primary thought.
