Five Ways You May Be Killing Employee Morale

    in Business

In my research on the topic of employee morale much of the focus I’ve seen is employee driven. By that I mean the attention leans toward what can be done to make the employee happy (perks driven), motivated, etc. I see little on what I consider to be the root of the problem which is leadership driven.

Strong morale is essential to your success as an organization. Leaders need employees who are engaged on all fronts. Employees need strong leaders to show the way.  The last thing you want to do is kill employee morale by ineffective leadership. In this episode I will talk about five ways in which managers/bosses/leaders kill employee morale and what to do about it.

  • KMnm Prayerful Journey-Trust ALLAH & Be- 1/10/2014-Rabi ul Awwal 20,1436

    in Religion

Trusting or putting our trust in ALLAH-The One G-D, is the saving force for all human beings.  We have been gioven gods from one end to the other, it is time for us to grow up and be the examples needed for the next rotating generations of humans.  Can't we see the earth as it rotates by the babies borne everyday.  It's like a rotation scale that we can't stop, no matter how unproductive of a culture we participate in.  Our human forms have to concur with the same process of our mind.  Think for a moment, a word or words enter our mind for what reason? To produce thoughts or give birth to ideas.  The entering process is of the male like role, receiving process is klije the female role,  Think again, should the male be as the Word,  as the Word enters the womb of the mind, and shiould the famale be, as the womb of the mind, receiving the word.  Where is the problem then- we are not connecting with the roles.

Over the past few days we have taken a look at the definition of weight and began looking beyond the physical weight we carry. There are invisible weights of stress, anxiety, fear, doubt that become a mental mass that becomes burdensome, and debilitating. These weights sap our energy and focus causing us to become sluggish and ineffective when pursuing goals, dreams, or just living life. On today's broadcast we will continue the conversation as we answer the question, "What's weighing you down?" Our biblical example is Barak (Judges 4).

Close-Up Talk Radio spotlights Ingredients for a Healthy Lifestyle

    in Health

Calgary, Alberta – According to a recent survey conducted by the Ministry of Health, 85 percent of Canadian women are dissatisfied with their bodies. Historically, the most widely accepted solution to improving our health has been diets, and yet statistics show that a staggering 95 percent of all diets fail.

Diets are fundamentally about deprivation, but as we all know, when we tell ourselves we can’t have something we just want it more. This “all or nothing” approach is why diets are unsustainable and an ineffective means of reaching your long-term health goals.

Sherry Matheson is a coach, facilitator and co-founder of Ingredients for a Healthy Lifestyle, a health and wellness coaching practice dedicated to helping individuals change their mindset and behaviors to promote long-term sustainable change in their health and wellbeing.

“Everyone has their own unique recipe for a healthy life,” says Sherry. “I’m passionate about health and wellness because I truly feel we can’t be our best without it; we can’t be the best employees we want to be or the best parents we want to be.”

As health and wellness coaches, Sherry, along with her co-founder Jamie Davidoff, explore how all the areas of your life are connected to your health and well-being. Sherry and Jamie work with their clients to find the right mix of ingredients to reach their optimal health goals.

“Diets have truly failed us. We don’t feel like we can be successful with another diet,” says Sherry. “The approach Jamie and I take is completely different because we really do focus on getting rid of the dieting mentality. We teach our clients to be more mindful of what they’re eating, to listen to what their body wants and develop a better relationship with food.”

Hate Exercise Less: Lose Weight, Gain Energy with Greg Mumm, Fitness Trainer

Greg Mumm is an obsessive learner and, like a curious detective searching for clues, he has spent a lifetime collecting knowledge and information. Greg is also ambitious, and in 2004 decided he would dedicate his life to helping as many people as he could.

Bothered by people doing endless situps, time-wasting stretches and other unproductive--and mind-numbing--exercises; motivated by people who discipline themselves to exercise, but are miserable; puzzled by individuals who don't exercise, but want the benefits; mesmerized by those who unexpectedly came to enjoy exercise...his first task would be to help people hate exercise less.

As a certified fitness trainer with a computer science degree (now there's a combination), he has the background and brains to utilize his vast knowledge and experience. In fact, his first book showed that there was a "hard" side to working out (for example: which exercises to do and the minimum time to do them) and a "soft" side to working out (for example: conquering boredom, motivation, and people).

MyNDTALK - Time Bandit - Edward G Brown

    in Psychology

Time Bandits   "You may not realize you are at the mercy of Time Bandits - people who steal your precious time, not with malice or intention, but with crippling effect on your own pursuits. They steal 40-60% of your time. And because your worst Time Bandits are probably your family, colleagues, clients, bosses, and friends, we can't just
say no - we would risk offending them, or worse, losing clients or getting fired.

Thus, The Time Bandit Solution is a step-by-step lesson on how to recover stolen time you never knew you had.  It is designed to teach you the arts and skills for graciously negotiating with the Time Bandits to prevent interruptions from sapping your productivity and satisfaction. The Time Bandit Solution also explains how the damage they cause lingers well beyond the interruption itself, how the stress of interruptions subtracts joy from your most important endeavors, and how to redeploy the time you recover.

Do you often think or say, ''I have too much to do, and not enough time to do it''? If so, this book is for you. If you find yourself frustrated by too many interruptions and feel powerless to prevent them, you want to read this book. With The Time Bandit Solution, you will free yourself from the distress of unwanted, unnecessary and unproductive interruptions, and recapture the time to do what you must and what you dream of doing."
