So many are struggling with personal issues - lack of employment, unable to pay bills, loose friendships, bad relationships, faultering businesses, government red tape, mean and overbearing bosses, and a hoard of seemingly impossible obstacles.
We will be talking about the essence of consciousness, reality and being. We will discuss the importance of linguistically based reality, culture, tradition, dogma and social interaction as well as science. We will touch on human relationships, the collective, community, unity, fellowship and religion. We will also discuss the fear that holds people back from success, a meaningful existence, economic stability and meaningful personal relationships. Come join us. Bring your questions, your answers, your doubt, pain, suffering and inconsistencies.
On this show we will go indepth and dig the deepest well into these issues. This may be one of the most important two hours of your life. Bring your pen and paper. We ask all of you critics, nay sayers, spammers, hackers and party poopers to join us. You might even learn something too. See ya on air.

The Sickle-Cell Anemia Research Foundation has raised the consciousness ofthe community, first by giving it the basic facts about the disease, and second by bringing to its attention the neglect of the disease in medical research. The community has learned through the foundation 's program that the people themselves can organize and find solutions to the problems that daily affect their survival. HUEY P. NEWTON The 63rd session of the UN General Assembly in December 2008 adopted a resolution on the “recognition of sickle-cell anaemia as a public health problem,” and urged Member States and UN organizations to raise awareness of SCD on June 19 of each year.21 Despite the fact that the UN has called for global efforts “to bring the disease out of the shadows,” relatively little attention has been given to assessing the burden of SCD and how to reduce it in Africa, where about 85% of children with SCD are born.22 In 2010, the WHO Regional Office for Africa proposed a SCD strategy in official recognition of the fact that this disease is an important cause of child mortality in many African countries.23 Enough is already known to justify investment in public health SCD programs, such as those already in place for other conditions (e.g., HIV or malaria), for promoting widespread screening, health education, and treatment to prevent or manage SCD complications.

A hybrid Delegate/Senator gets to vote twice on the same issue, and therefore felons get to vote before finishing their time. Senators get hate-mail as a result.
Democrats push even more gun control.
We hear about removing the tax penalty on married couples, and allowing public use of the wacky weed.
"Maryland, My Maryland" may lose its northern scummyness.
Plus more news.

Understanding the Recent College Demonstrations
In fall 2015, thousands of college students across the nation organized, protested, and demanded change at their schools. From the hiring of more faculty of color to the teaching of Ethnic and GLBTQ Studies and increasing student programs, students' lists of demands were vast.
Naysayers and conservative pundits were quick to critique these protests, but too few people took the time to listen and learn from students. As students return to their campuses from winter break, this show brings together student activists, educators, and community members to reflect on students’ demands, the factors fueling their protests, and the possibilities for change.
Students have long been the ones pushing for educational transformation. These latest demonstrations aren’t isolated incidents or the gripes of so-called "coddled” or “whining” individuals, as some would want us to believe. Instead, students’ demands stem from decades of racism, class inequality, and other forms of exclusion. Now is the time to listen to students’ demands and work together to ensure that our schools serve all of our students.
Join us today for Women Lead Radio as Michelle Bergquist, your host of Women Who Lead, interviews Quyen Tu, Attorney at Law Office of Quyen Tu.
Quyen has a passion for helping entrepreneurs create a positive impact on society and the environment. Quyen is going to share some expert advice on what is required for a small business owner to engage their business in social enterprise. Business owners often want to be sure that they are giving back to their community through a social good or environmental practice. Quyen will explain what a B Corp is and how to obtain certification.
To be a successful social enterprise requires more than just the desire to do well. “The social entrepreneur helps spread knowledge and tools, acts as an ambassador to advance the sector, and can function as a role model for the general public.”
Quyen Tu wants to help you make your social enterprise a success. She believes all entrepreneurs should mentor and collaborate with other women in business wanting to build a purpose driven business.
As the CEO and Co-Founder of Connected Women of Influence, Michelle Bergquist is a passionate advocate for women in business.
