Native American Culture in Gaming - A Conversation with Monte Cook Games

    in Entertainment

In the world of fantasy role playing games or any other type of gaming, how can game creators best convey Native culture without lapsing into stereotype? How can they best do it with respect and accuracy?  We talked with Shanna Germain Monte Cook Games - creators of Dungeons and Dragons style RPG "The Strange." Creators have agreed to make positive changes when they were criticized as portraying Indigenous people in a stereotypical way.

We commend Monte Cook Games for their desire to work with the Native community in order to show the world Native people are most than just a stereotype.

Turning Your Mess into a Message with Writer and Poet LaCretia Lewis

    in Radio

In this episode of GaptoothDiva Radio, we discuss the journey of turning your mess into a message. S many of us have endured struggles and challenges in life, but very few of us use those obstacles as an opportunity to uplift and inspire others.

We are on the air with our special guest, LaCretia Lewis, also known as "Forepleasure". A 36-year old Richmond, VA native and a proud mother to three daughters. Having become a single parent at the age of 16, LaCretia holds a special place in her heart for young women that have endured a similar journey.

LaCretia’s passion is to empower young people, who much like her, have been and are facing daunting challenges. Today's youth grapple with abuse, depression, peer pressure, pregnancy, and sexual issues ranging from harassment to identity, at a much earlier age. Through her organization, BRANDED, LaCretia aspires to provide the "village" and offer young people a safe space, and wise counsel, in addition to tangible tools for success, as they navigate life's rocky terrain.

Listen in as we come back with more of the off the cuff entertainment but with real and honest conversation surrounding topics related to you. Using Fashion, Music, Culture, Entertainment, and Lifestyle.

Crafty & The Adamizer EP6: What's Up Doc?

    in Current Events

Alright freaks and freakettes! Tune in this Monday 3/30 at 8:30 where Crafty & The Adamizer will finally put the proverbial bow (for now) on all the economy talk and then turn their attentions to turning your attention to some of the better documentaries out there that you freaks may or may not be aware of. Of course, we would love to hear from you and what you think is worth our valuable time to sit down and give a wiggle to. Of course, we'll mix it up with some comedy and music....es! yes! we WILL play a tune this week and Crafty might even let (gulp) Adamizer make the selection. That will be a game-time decision:) Alright, you freaks be good and tune on in now, ya hear?

Conspiracy? Maybe. Screwed? Definitely. Whether you want to believe there is a grand conspiracy to bring down or fundamentally change America and the world really doesn't matter. The numbers are in and they suck. Here in the Front Row we'll be taking a look at the news and event from the serious to the sublime, from around the globe to around the corner in an effort to make some sense of it all and hopefully wake a few people ip along the way. Tune in each and every Monday at 8:30PM (EST) as Crafty & The Admizer discuss a wide range of topics including: current news and events, the police state, the new world order, 9/11, the Federal Reserve, false-flags, the left/right paradigm, endless war, and in general, failure after failure of our "leaders" over the last couple hundred years. What's that definition of insanity again? Along the way, we also hope to mix in some good talk on music, comedy and entertainment and just for good measure, give some time to UFO's and more specifically, the ever-increasing evidence regarding the true origins of man and the bullshit we've been fed there since day one.
