Next Fan Up - AFC South Podcast 4/22/2015

    in Football

Jaguars SuperFan Ryan Mercier talks with Colts SuperFan Dan Koester about the off-season moves for all of the AFC South. Jacksonville made a pretty big splash getting TE Julius Thomas and showing the change in culture while the Colts got some great players in the latter half of their careers such as Andre Johnson and Frank Gore.

Ryan and Dan do their best to cover the Titans and Texans as well. Should the Titans take QB Marcus Mariota in the Draft? Are the Texans as good as their 9-7 record from 2014?

Along with free agency and the draft for all four teams in the division, they touch base on the recently released 2015 NFL schedule.

    JONESTOWN-Will Savive

    in Entertainment

November 18, 1978, was a tragically unprecedented day in U.S. history that will forever be woven into the fabric of this country. It is the day that leader of Peoples Temple (PT), James Warren Jones, ordered the assassination of U.S. Congressman Leo J. Ryan and others at the Port Kaituma airstrip in South America, then led his congregation on what Guyana's police chief, Skip Roberts, testified was a "mass suicide." Decades later, however, the depth of this story is still unknown, and many scholars and former members who have continued their exploration of the incidents have found that there is still plenty of evidence as well as plenty of sinister connections that contradict the official version of this story. Jonestown: "Don't Drink the Kool-Aid" is the chronological story of the rise and fall of Peoples Temple and its leader Jim Jones-from his early years in Indianapolis and California, to the tragic ending in the jungle of South America that claimed the lives of 918 Americans. Jonestown: "Don't Drink the Kool-Aid" comprehensively details the many links that Jones and his compound had with the CIA and their MKULTRA experiments. Through a comprehensive analysis of Jones' life, Peoples Temple, and the investigation and the aftermath of the mass murder/suicides; this book is designed to be the quintessential marking piece that will re-introduce this story to society and serve as a reminder of the infamous mantra that hung in the pavilion in Jonestown: "Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it." LET’S GO DOWN THE RABITT HOLE

    TUESDAY, APRIL 21, 2015… 6 p C/7 p E… Call /Listen/ Chat~ 347-637-3074

Discussion and Questions with Ron March of The Ron March Show in Detroit!

The 14th amendment to the US Constitution was ratified on July 9, 1868 during the Reconstruction era. It, along with the 13th and 15th amendments are collectively known as the Reconstruction amendments. Its broad goal was to ensure that the Civil Rights Act passed in 1866 would remain valid ensuring that "all persons born in the United States...excluding Indians not taxed...." were citizens and were to be given "full and equal benefit of all laws." (Quotes from the Civil Rights Act of 1866) However, it went beyond the provisions of the Civil Rights Act in many ways.

    4 Key Clauses:

State and federal citizenship for all persons regardless of race both born or naturalized in the United States was reaffirmed.
No state would be allowed to abridge the "privileges and immunities" of citizens.
No person was allowed to be deprived of life, liberty,or property without "due process of law."
No person could be denied "equal protection of the laws."

Tune in as Ron March discusses the 14 TH amendment and what we should know.
