Welcome to The Bridge, the historical meeting place of youth from all walks of life in small towns and big cities; a place to listen to music, laugh, talk and exchange news and ideas. The Bridge is meant to be a vehicle for my listener friends to share ideas and expand consciousness… from one state of consciousness to another. The Bridge is a way to give voice to the voices that are not commonly heard and share perspectives that are not commonly known, giving rise to authentic cross-cultural communication and understanding.

Children face violence, hunger, murders, accidental deaths, kidnappings, trafficking, prostitution every day. These issues cause hardships for many people and not just to the very poor. Yet life goes on as usual for the majority of people while 1 in 6 people are in poverty. Areas are drug infested. Buildings are falling down. Lots are grown up. Being safe is an issue not just at night, but during day light. Schools are being closed in communities leaving children to travel further on foot to get to and from schools. Families are living in cars. People are living on streets. Cities passing ordinances making living in cars and feeding the homeless illegal. Why isn't these things of an urgent need to solve for Americas children? Why are these things happening across America? Why aren't these things being taken care of in America by Americans for Americans children? Why does America feel the need to house children from other countries whose parents are send them to America in hopes for a better life. A better life than they are living behind? A better life than 1 in 6 Americans? Why isn't there an urgent need to care for America's children?

"We will do everything to destroy you and murder your children" Hamas agenda, "We want you DEAD and GONE" quoted by Hamas, a terrorist branch of the Muslim Brotherhood. But it is not just words it is action in a big way and in a small way. If you happen to be Jewish, and if you happen to live in the tiny country called Israel, DEATH is what Hamas and friends want for you. Israel is under attack! If they put down their weapons and ask for peace, they will all die, if Hamas puts down their weapons the fighting will stop. That is not a conflict, that is an attak that must be stopped.
They are throwing bombs at you that may explode on your building at any moment. As you speak about it, the sirens go off and you are in a state of emergency which means you must run into shelter. That is the reality to the people living in Israel. How does anyone in their right mind say that we have no right to exist? Sounds rediculous, but yes they shout it from the rooftops and many people go along with it. The question you need to ask is What would you do if you were under attack and someone told you that you have no right to exist? Would you submit and be killed, or would you do everything in your power to stop them?

The Celtic's Summer League schedule is officially over. The Celtic's rookies and sophmores took to the court to show off their talents to Celtic's GM Danny Ainge and Celtics Head Coach Brad Stevens. The Celtics played teams that represented the Oklahoma City Thunder, Indiana Pacers, Detroit Pistons and the Orlando Magic in that same order. So how did our recent draft picks PG Marcus Smart and SG James Young fair. Did they dominate and prove that Danny Ainge really has something in these 2 guys or did some of the Celtic's sophmores like Kelly Olynyk shine throughout the summer schedule. We will break all of it down as well as any free agent signing the celtic's may have made between our shows. Rich Contee of CLNS Radio and Jamey Burke from RedsArmy.com will join the Celtics Talk Crew to give further insight on the Celtic's future
The Celebrity Link: #1 songs by Jamaicans reaching UK Singles National Chart
The incidence of Jamaican recordings reaching the United Kingdom charts and impacting British culture has become commonplace.
Millie Small’s 1964 remake of Barbie Gaye’s 1957 R&B hit, My Boy Lollipop set the trend when it climbed to No. 2 on the British charts.
It effectively opened the floodgates for a deluge of Jamaican recordings to flow incessantly onto the British charts.
Earlier, others like Laurel Aitken and Dandy Livingstone created an initial impact, with Aitken’s Boogie in My Bones and Little Sheila in 1957 becoming the first Jamaican-made recordings to be distributed in England.
A couple years after Millie Small’s hit, ska legend Prince Buster burst onto the UK music scene with the ultimate rude-boy song, Al capone Guns Don’t Argue, which established his career in Britain.
The year 1967 saw the biggest Jamaica-UK hit of that period, when Desmond Dekker’s 007 (Shanty Town) found its way to the No. 14 slot on the charts.
Dekker, who had ushered in a more conscious form of Jamaican rocksteady, revealed to the outside world, through the recording, the condition of ghetto dwellers and gun-toting hoodlums in a society going through a transition:
Two years later, Dekker and the Aces would return to register Jamaica’s greatest impact on the UK charts and the first Jamaican record to hit the No. 1 spot there — Israelites.
Although few could understand its lyrics, it became a timeless masterpiece, merely on the strength of its intense reggae beat, reaching the top in April 1969.http://www.herald.co.zw/jamaican-music-rules-uk/ 661-467-2407 www.crsradio.com
