Michael has contracted a brain eating amoeba called Naegleria fowleri which then causes a rare disease, Primary Amoebic Meningoencephalitis (PAM). We have now come to understand that the amoeba entered Michael’s body when he JUMPED in the LAKE and WATER was forced into his NOSE. Although VERY RARE it is more likely to occur during and after HOT SUMMER MONTHS. The amoeba attached itself to the nerve that goes to the frontal lobe of the brain. We need your prayers and your support.

  • Carson's Corner with the Election Boycott Advocates Returns.

    in Politics Progressive

On tonight's edition of Carson's Corner with the Election Boycott Advocates, we'll discuss a recent article in the new Jacobin magazine, titled, " Struggles and Progress."  How can an analysis of the Civil War help workers in 2015.

In another week in the capitalist United States, two television journalists were gunned down on live television. The man who filmed the attack and is believed to be responsible, Vester Flanagan, was a gay black man in America who couldn't find a job. Although clearly a disturbed individual, we'll discuss how our extremely stratified society under capitalism contributes to Vester's rage. The corporate media will mainly analyze the individual and omit and analysis of the underlying social conditions caused by capitalism.

This, plus your calls on Carson's Corner.

RFB ~ "Do Not Befriend the Unbelievers"

    in Politics Conservative

On July 1, the Swedish daily Gefle Dagblad revealed that an imam from the northern city of Gävle was the man behind the now-closed website, www.muslim.se. The imam, Abo Raab, is a prominent figure in the Swedish Imam Association, which has received over 400,000 kronor (more than $47,000) from the government to "combat Islamophobia and racism in society."

News from Canada: "Sean Bonitto and his son handed out pamphlets to students at Park West School in Clayton Park. The school is in a culturally diverse neighbourhood and houses nearly 800 students from Grade Primary to Grade 9. The court notes, "one-quarter of its students are Muslim." Is Society Obsessed With Weight?

    in Health

We hear all the time about weight gain, weight loss, how Americans are the heaviest we’ve ever been, and myriad plans for remedying our egregious fatness. And yet…what if a lot of what we’re told and what we believe simply isn’t true? Award-winning writer Harriet Brown set out to explore our relentless obsession with weight and thinness—with surprising results.  In Body of Truth, Brown tackles the myths and realities of the “obesity epidemic,” exposing the biggest lies driving the rhetoric of obesity. With provocative prose and razor-sharp wit, she examines our tendency to find weight scapegoats (sugar and wheat are the current favorites), gives historical and contemporary context for what it means to be “fat” (making a strong case that it’s not a dirty word), and offers ways for all of us to think about weight and health with more nuance, accuracy, and respect. In this segment of The Organic View Radio Show, host June Stoyer talks to Harriet Brown author of the best-selling book, Body of Truth, How Science, History, and Culture Drive Our Obsession with Weight--and What We Can Do About It. • Corporate Learning Programs That Drive Results!

    in Business

Join us today on Women Leading the Way Radio as Michelle Bergquist, your host of Women Who Lead, interviews Kate Carroll, Director of Global Process at Ingram Micro.

Kate brings us a discussion from the corporate women’s point of view!  Kate has seen many forms of management & leadership development programs. Kate’s current hot button is driving learning programs that drive results. She focuses on those that are preparatory for taking on a larger role in the org. Those that provide exposure to concepts and business scenarios while offering related projects within the business are the best. It combines the educational and experiential and helps weed out participants who are not ready. It can be a very complex environment, but one where women ARE on the front lines.

Kate has a long standing career with the same employer that grew like crazy through the tech boom, and because of that, she has had tons of opportunity to learn new things, transfer around the organization, try roles outside her comfort zone, and advance. The growth trajectory meant she was often acting quickly to market needs and valued associates who were adaptable, inclusive, and creative. Mentors have had a large impact for her, from her mother to professional advocates!

As the CEO and Co-Founder of Connected Women of Influence, Michelle Bergquist is a passionate advocate for women in business. At Connected Women of Influence, we believe that more women need to lead in business and everything we do is center-focused on designing platforms, programs, connections and collaborative opportunities for b2b women to prosper, succeed and lead the way in business today!
