My guest for today's show is Serena Dyer Pisoni.
In 2001, Dr. Wayne Dyer wrote a book called 10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace, based on the most important principles he wanted his children to live by. Serena Dyer, one of those children, has contemplated these ideas throughout her life. “Don’t die with your music still in you” has been the most important principle for Serena: to her, it means that you don’t allow yourself to live any life other than the one you were born to live.
In her inspiring book, "Don't Die with Your Music Still in You" written with her Dad, Serena shares what it was like to grow up with spiritual parents.
She touches upon all ten of her dad’s original secrets, imparting her own experiences with them and detailing how they have affected the way she approaches various situations in life.
She shares stories, struggles, and triumphs—and Wayne, in turn, contributes his own perspective. This unique father-daughter collaboration will warm the hearts of all parents . . . and inspire anyone who is looking to find the “music” inside them.
During the show I'll play a beautiful song called "This Gift" and we'll talk about it. The song is on her sister Skye's album and is based on a letter Serena wrote to her Dad. We'll also be talking about the "music" Serena hears calling her now which includes sharing stories from her inspiring book "Don't Die with Your Music Still in You" and we'll talk about her joyful and fun wedding on Maui.

West Marrin Ph. D is a scientist, educator, and founder of corporations and foundations focused on diverse water quality projects. He is the author of three books and journal articles that address a range of topics.
There are several seemingly important, yet undeniably puzzling, insights that ancient cultures left us regarding the physical substance of water. First, it is a sacred gift (usually bestowed by the “Creator” of our universe) that imparts life to the world and, in doing so, mediates an essential exchange of energy and information between the observable and unobservable worlds. It was often proclaimed that all worldly forms emerge from the primordial waters through the substance of water and eventually return to the primordial waters through the substance of water. Second, this life-imparting process is inherent in a type of water that was generally known as living water or the water of life, which was perceived to be distinct from the more plentiful ordinary water that is required to sustain life. The processes or energies responsible for the transition from ordinary to living water remain a mystery; however, most of the so-called holy water used for ceremonial purposes is merely a surrogate for this living water. Third, water was a substance of untold wisdom (often possessing the attributes of memory and discernment) that should be honored and respected for both its life-giving and life-taking attributes. Many cultures considered water to be a communicative entity, not unlike the myriad life forms that owed their very physical existence to it. Based on these ancient insights, it is not difficult to understand why water was almost universally considered to be sacred. See where our new science understanding is leading us back to ancients wisdom.

My guest this Thursday, July 26th at 3 p.m. PDT on MetalSmith BenchTalk is David LaPlantz (aka D. D. Deco), an active, producing jeweler and metalsmith. He flirts back and forth between jewelry and social commentary sculpture.
About: David LaPlantz is included in Who’s Who in American Art and Who’s Who in the West and was named Humboldt State University’s “Outstanding Professor” in 1981. He received a Fulbright Grant in 1985 to travel throughout New Zealand to conduct master jewelry workshops, and received the Humboldt State University “Scholar of the Year” Award in 1994.
From 1967 through 2002, LaPlantz led an energetic dual life as both a full time jewelry and metalsmithing teacher and full time studio artist. Balancing his precious time between the two, he carved out a career comprised of imparting knowledge and creating art jewelry and sculpture, while trying to retain his sanity. LaPlantz is currently a full time studio artist living on the high desert of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
LaPlantz has always been an active, productive jeweler and metalsmith. His most recent jewelry involves the use of Vegetable Ivory (tagua nut) and /or industrially painted aluminum, which he engraves, stacks and cold connects together. LaPlantz’s sculptural pieces visually explore more political and philosophical topics such as blacklisting in the entertainment industry, payola scandals in the music industry and in radio, along with the “spoken word” as demonstrated in his ‘Art Microphones.’

Our soul winning verse from the Word of God today is John 3:17 which reads: "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."
Our soul winning quote today is from Rebecca Manley Pippert. She said: "Rejoice in your God-given temperament and use it for God's purposes."
Our soul winning devotional is part 40 of our series titled "What Evangelism Is" from Dave Earley and David Wheeler.
Evangelism Is...Being Yourself
You Are Gifted
When you became born again, God took up residence in your life in the person of the Holy Spirit. One of the many benefits of having the Holy Spirit in your life is that He enables you to serve God with greater effectiveness. You have no reason to feel inadequate because the Bible promises that the Holy Spirit will give you dynamic power to be a witness and share the gospel. The Holy Spirit not only gives you power to be a witness in general, but He also gives each of us specific spiritual gifts by which we witness. The Bible clearly teaches several simple truths about spiritual gifts.
1. There are a variety of spiritual gifts.
2. Each believer has at least one gift.
3. Gifts are given by God's choice, not ours.
4. Gifts are to be honestly evaluated.
5. God uses different gifts to diversify His body.
6. Gifts are to be used.
7. There are seven primary spiritual gifts. These are:
Prophecy: verbal proclamation of truth
Ministry/serving: ability actively to meet the needs of others
Teaching: ability to clarify and communicate truth
Exhortation: simple, practical spiritual encouragement
Giving: imparting earthly possessions to meet needs
Leadership: wise use of authority or superintendence; organization
Mercy: identifying with people in need
This week we continue our series on the afterlife! Last week we covered the first two Mansion Worlds. Jesus alluded to this phase of the afterlife when he said: "In my Father's house are many mansions." The Urantia Book claims to reveal the truth about what happens when we die. It's says, "...you will resume your intellectual training and spiritual development at the exact level whereon they were interrupted by death. .... You begin over there right where you leave off down here."
This part of the Urantia Book reveals the Morontia levels of existence. It defines Morontia as the level of life that falls between matter and spirit. It says, "Morontia is a term designating a vast level intervening between the material and the spiritual. It may designate personal or impersonal realities, living or nonliving energies. The warp of morontia is spiritual; its woof is physical."
The Urantia Book also says, "Love of adventure, curiosity, and dread of monotony—these traits inherent in evolving human nature—were not put there just to aggravate and annoy you during your short sojourn on earth, but rather to suggest to you that death is only the beginning of an endless career of adventure, an everlasting life of anticipation, an eternal voyage of discovery." And, "You will work your way through the ascending levels of this vast experiential university by imparting to those just below you the new-found knowledge of your advancing career."
Do you believe that only saints ascend? Do you believe that humans are miserable and wretched beings who largely don't deserve to continue on? If so, you owe it to yourself to listen in and learn how precious each human being truly is. Come and discover the amazing plan that our beneficent and loving Creator has in store for all who have faith to venture forth.
Join us, and ponder the hereafter.
