Interview: Children's Author Jenifer Johnson About Her Book 'Nap Time Fairies'

    in Books

Nap Time Fairies by Jenifer Johnson. Illustrations by Barbara Morgan.

As a working mom of a small boy named Noah, Jenifer Johnson wanted to be there to see each smile, watch him grow and explore with him. She missed Noah every minute she was away, imagining him and his daily routines. So she invented "The Nap Fairies" and would tell her son this story during their times together. She imagined the Fairies making the journey for her and watching over him. During their times apart, she was sending him "love, laughter and my heart ever after." It was a natural next step to turn to her own mother Barbara Morgan, a gifted artist, when she decided to create this book. Both author and illustrator knew how children can grow anxious at bedtime and they wanted to give them a sense of comfort. Now Nap Time Fairies provides parents a lovely way of connecting with their children whenever they're apart-as well as when they're together. Nap Time Fairies is sure to become a favorite bedtime story for families everywhere.

    Tough Talk Christian Radio

    in Christianity

Tough Talk with Tony Gambone with his guest Larry Stockstill & Sandra Lee Hartsell:

Larry Stockstill - As a missionary in Africa for two years and a senior pastor for twenty-eight years, Larry Stockstill’s ministry has been global and local. His ministry now involves winning men to Christ (Model Man), planting local churches (Surge) and strengthening character in leaders (Remnant). With six children all in ministry, he and his wife Melanie minister together worldwide strengthening the marriages and families of today’s Christian leaders.

Sandra Lee Hartsell - I love to write prose. My first book has been called, "A Crime of Passion" and others have called it, "Illustrations of Inspiration". I love word illustrations. People that have read my writing relate their lives to it. I have wrote down everyday experiences. The title is called, "A Call to the Christians." I have 3 more prose books out. One is titled, "A Call to the Christians 2", "Latch Key Kids", and "Emotional Hearts." The last three books that I have done are children's books. They are "Adam Petty's Heartbeat". This book is based on the Victory Junction Camp in Asheboro, NC. Adam Petty had a passion for children. You can see the passion he had for children, as you read through this book that is about the camp. "Let's Go Feed the Animals" is based on the Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville, NC. Children love the photos that are in the book. "Once A Year" is about a yearly traditional that the Moravian church at Old Salem has continued since 1929.

Olivet Discourse Pt. 4: Matt. 24:35-51—Watching for the "Flood"

    in Religion

Matthew 24 & 25 is commonly known as the "Olivet Discourse."

In previous discussions we've noted that Jesus related events associated with His coming to pour out God's wrath upon Jerusalem and all the Jews in order to fulfill prophecy and bring their covenant with Him to an irreversible end in AD 70. He was to "come with the clouds" to consume the flesh of the carcase and to "gather" His elect into the new covenant relationship with Him.

In today's discussion we'll look at two illustrations which prompted the urgency of that generation to be alert for the great and awesome "day of the Lord." It also sets the stage for applying the two opening parables of chp. 25. Those illustrations are "the flood" and "the faithful and sensible slave."

As always, we insist that the teachings of Jesus and His apostles are not merely based on the prophets; but they are the God-inspired words which show a promise-keeping God fulfilling His word!

They did so to suit their own purposes: To enable them to Chattel Slave, Second-Class Citizenship and other forms of Oppression against African people, are the primary ones.

    Switch to Locally Owned Energy

    in Environment

Institute for Local Self-Reliance – The Gold Standard for Building Community, Strengthening Economies
John Farrell, Director of Democratic Energy

John is widely known as the guru of distributed energy. He is best known for his vivid illustrations of the economic and environmental benefits of local ownership of decentralized renewable energy. His data rich research shows that most states don’t need to look outside their borders to meet their electricity needs. John has also written extensively on the economic advantages democratizing the electricity system and has wowed crowds from Maine to San Francisco to Berlin. And from what my research tells me, he has the gift of being able to translate the complex economics of energy into tools for advancing local energy ownership that everyone can understand. This show will both challenge and inform us all. This show sponsored by The Fairfax Companies.
