I’m a certified peer support specialist for people with disabilties and a multiple brain injury and aneurysm survivor as well as a survivor of several related operations and procedures. Together, I hope we can bridge the gap to inclusion for everyone with all types of disabilities and that you will be willing to call in and share your stories and ideas on The Empowerment Zone with Les Paul!
I work for a Center for Independent Living which are community-based, cross-disability, non-profit organizations that is designed and operated by people with disabilities. CILs are unique in that they operate according to a strict philosophy of consumer control, wherein people with all types of disabilities directly govern and staff the organization. Centers for Independent Living Provide:
Information and Referral
Individual and Systems Advocacy
Independent Living Skills Training
The Empowerment Zone is a place for all people with any type of disability to come and learn and find common ground and solutions to help empower people with disabilities to find their inner strengths.
This is a positive show based on the IL philosophy which is independent living for all people wishing to better their lives by learning to take charge of their destiny and living their dreams through the independent living movement. Two years ago I came up with the concept for the Empowerment Zone after also hosting on the brain injury radio network show Dream Catchers for over three years now as well.
Not only is the independent living movement very cool, but it’s a way of thinking differently with a disability with bold ideas and a brave new future using the core services of Iindependent Living. If you would like to call in and talk dial 424-243-9540 and press one if you’d like to speak because that shows me your hand is up!

Through combining his talents in singing, dancing, and acting, Grady Harrell II has had numerous opportunities to work with a variety of well known music artists, land acting roles on television, while at the same time recording and performing as a solo artist. His years of experience in the music business began at the age of 9 when he began to teach himself to sing while looking up to his role model Smokey Robinson. A native of Los Angeles, California, Grady Harrell was born into a musical family where singing was (and still is) a way of life. His mother, Evelyn Harrell, (a singer as well) was in the group Friends of Distinction while his grandmother, Essie King, was a "classical singer/teacher". Grady persisted in sharpening his vocal skills, and at twelve years old he formed a group called Young Gents. He also formed a very popular group called Papa’s Results while he was in high school. This group (which also included his sister Rocq-e) remained active for over a span of more than six years. They soon gained opportunities to work with artist such as Shalamar and The Whispers just to name a few.
Grady Harrell's stamina, talent, and love for music are strongly evident through his three solo albums: “Mwana” (1985) on Solar/MCA Records, “Come Play with Me” (1989) on RCA Records, and “Romance Me” (1990) on RCA Record. In recent years, he has done tours in Europe with his sister Rocq-E, as leading vocalist in a Motown/Atlantic theater production called "R.E.S.P.E.C.T." He usually makes appearances in Holland several months per year where the fans are
very welcoming and are more than appreciative of his soulful singing.
Currently Grady Harrell is in the process of recording a new album for Cliff Hanger Records where Chris Dixon, C.E.O. of the record label, is producing the album.

Hi, my name is LilmoePsyco. I grew up in Chicago IL, as a child we moved around a lot. I went to a lot of different schools. It was easy for me to make friends because I was a cool person, funny and laid back and etc. Also I had problems wit the bigger kids in my neighborhood that involve me getting into a lot of fights. 8th grade I begin hanging around a friend who went by the name D-moe (R.i.p) who was well respected, and bring me around a group of young men who called themselves, Apache black p. Stone rangers. In 2004 was my 1st year at cvs high school in Chicago IL now known as cvca. I was a different person now, I became very aggressive, and did not take kindly to threats. I lost my good ways but some how found it in my music. Started off with a pen beating on the table but I suck at rapping so much.
2006 I moved to East Chicago Indiana, where I went to East Chicago central high school. I very popular and spent most of my time In the studio. Still having dreams of being a rapper, but at this time I gave up on it. I was to deep in the streets hustling, where I later ran Into my old friend D moe. But at this time I was a young general for the almighty black p. Stone rangers. I parted myself from the Apache family who still gave me stone love. I was out here getting this money and had a part time job, but lost everything getting into some trouble. In jail i decided rapping was not for me it was a rich man's dream.
I was released from jail in 2010 where I moved to hammond Indiana to start ova I became humble and very supportive. I was energetic and love turning up. In i heart I still we a ranger , so it did not take long for me to take over hammond, I was very territorial. Now I'm 26 I have a family and has became a man, pick up my pen, to warn the world a out fake friends an grimy females. Watch who you trust, the person that say they got love for you might be the one who kills you.
