You are welcome to join this insightful discussion by calling in 347-850-1533 on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 12:30pm for episode of TRUE TALKS WITH OFAE OFAE with our special guest OLOYE SOLAGBADE POPOOLA, President of the International Council for Ifa Religion (ICIR). We will be discussing the CODE OF ETHICS FOR IFA & ORISA DEVOTEES AND INITIATES WORLDWIDE.
What are the CODE OF ETHICS as handed down by the ICIR? Who are expected to follow these Code of Ethics? Is there or will there be a campaign to instill these Code of Ethics in the minds and hearts of devotees and initiates? What are the implications for not following these Code of Ethics? Is there some form of disciplinary action in regards to breaking the rules as set forth in the Code of Ethic? Who will be responsible for disciplinary action, if need be?
This episode of TRUE TALKS WITH OFAE OFAE centers on CHANGE WITHIN THE RANKS OF IFA/ORISA EGUN LIFE. Some of the issues that reflect a need for change is the exclusion of women in key positions such as being on the IFA COUNCIL (an organization that speaks for the rights of all Ifa/Orisa devotees and practioners worldwide). Some of the questions that will be explored are as follow:
What is the Ifa Council? Do women hold executive roles on the Ifa Council? Do women have a say on the Ifa Council? What other roles do women have in Ifa/Orisa life that gives them power of authority? What difference will it make if women are placed in head positions on the Ifa Council?
Our special guests who will be speaking on this topic are:
Iya Ayaba OrisaBi Awodele-Ifaseye (Awo-Iyanifa, Teacher, CEO at Queenchiku Ngozi Art Gallery, Inc.
Iya Abiye Awo Agbaye, Ifa/Orisa priest, Oloye(Chief Priest) at Ile Iwosan Orunmila Mimo Temple
You are invited to call in to ask questions to our guest and/or share your opinion on the subject at hand.
Aboru aboye and Alaafia to all! On TRUE TALKS WITH OFAE OFAE we will continue our discussion from last week, "CHANGE WITHIN THE RANKS OF IFA/ORISA LIFE" with our special guest; the Iya Abiye, Awo Agbaye of Ile Iwosan Orunmila Mimo Temple and Iya Ayaba OrisaBi Awodele-Ifaseye, of Ile Ikoko Ata (House of Pepper Pot). We hope to also have a surprise guest from the "The International Council for Ifa Religion" aka "The Ifa Council." This show will focus on the following questions and comments:
DO YOU KNOW OF THE CHANGES THAT ARE HAPPENING IN IFA/ORISA LIFE THAT AFFECT YOU?
DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS "THE INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL FOR IFA RELIGION" AKA "THE IFA COUNCIL" AND THAT IT SPEAKS FOR YOU"?
DO YOU THINK THAT THE IFA COUNCIL SHOULD MAKE CHANGES TO INCLUDE WOMEN ON THE COUNCIL AND WHY?
DID YOU KNOW THAT NIGERIA GAVE US IN NORTH AMERICA, OUR OWN ARABA?
DO YOU KNOW WHO IS THE ARABA OF NORTH AMERICA AND IF THE ARABA IS IN COLLABORATION WITH THE IFA COUNCIL FOR THE BENEFIT OF US HERE IN THE DIASPORA?
DO YOU KNOW WHETHER OR NOT THE LUKUMI ADHERENTS ARE COMFORTABLE HAVING AN ARABA OF NORTH AMERICA TO SPEAK ON THEIR BEHALF?
IS THE ARABA OF NORTH AMERICA A PHANTOM POSITION OR A POSITION OF REAL POWER?
Tune in by calling 347-850-1533 on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 6:pm Eastern Standard Time to listen to and ask questions of our guest speakers and hopefully our surprise guest will be available too.
Looking forward to hearing your voice on the wire! ~O'Fae O'Fae

Our Blogtalk radio family has worked together to create two pieces of legislation, one concerning Police and the other concerning Prisons. Today Congressman Danny Davis of the 7th District will listen to these suggestions and guide us through the process of how these ideas can be presented to Congress made into laws. The proposed legislation is as follows:
Prisons: 1) Remove the objective to keep these as profit making ventures. Change the objective to one of eventually closing them all, "going out of business." 2) Make the objective to restore to wholeness those who have committed offenses against others, not punishment or vengeance for their crime. 3) Release everyone who is not jailed for a violent offence. 4) Release everyone incarcerated for drug trafficking or using drugs in which no weapons or acts of violence were involved. 5) Allow those who are in jail because they cannot pay a bond to be immediately released, if jailed for a non-violent offense. 6) Provide psychological evaluations and counseling services for violent offenders serving time in prison. 7) Provide education for those incarcerated, if they do not have a high school diploma. 8) Provide vocational training for those who are inside, preparing them for when they will be released. 9) Allow those serving long time or life sentences to serve the community by talking to errant youth in a "scared straight" program. 10) Expunge all records after the person has served time and been released, and do not require any reference or admission of committing a felony on an job applications.
