Back in those days when families were gathered around the TV, yours truly remembers enjoying certain artists from "The Lawrence Welk Show." One of those acts was The McGuire Sisters. Their harmonies were amazing - the kind of blending and weaving that only family members can give us. And they conveyed such joy and hope! When listening to The Ault Sisters, you hear the same kind of magic. They sound absolutely angelic. So - how fitting to have them as guests this time of year?
In fact, The Ault Sisters will be our last guests of 2014. So, the show on 12/18 will truly be special :) Just a little background on Amanda, Alicia and Alanna - they are from Toronto and have been singing for a long time. Even though they are still quite young! All have had formal music education. And, though their musical tastes are different, they agree that Jazz lends itself to the complex harmonies that they so love. They first performed as a trio in 2004. In 2006, they released "Christmas Feelings" - and that album paved the way for so much to happen. Including a yearly holiday event at the popular Hugh's Room in their city. It's always a benefit show. And it's always much anticipated - many have said that it's not the season until they hear the Sisters perform at Hugh's!
That show this year is coming up - and, at the same time - the single by our trio, "May You Always", is doing REALLY well for them. It's the kind of song that lingers in your spirit once you've heard it.
Please join us for a triumverate of beautiful young ladies who have been blessed with fabulous voices. They will truly make you feel Christmas!
See you in The Chat Room - we'll miss you in the days to come as "Hybrid Jazz" takes an extended hiatus. Blessings to ALL!

This show is about tips on what's needed to be done to improve on yourself and make yourself an even better person.
On this episode, I will be discussing specific reasons why you need to get better. Remember, to get the best out of anything, you need to be sure why you are doing it in the first place. Following that, we will be discussing specific ways that you can employ to get better, such as setting goals, studying, and a lot more.

1. I just quit my job (last day May 30th) at Stanford University to do ministry full time. 2. I'm a lesbian minister (Been married to my wife for 7 years, got "officially" and legally married 6 years ago.) 3. I started on this path relatively young- I'm 35 and have been a minister for 3 years. 4. I started getting serious when my fiance (now ex) left me for one of my friends...then I started dating God. And God sent me 10 dozen roses.
In Matthew 1:17, the number 14 is found three times over, connected with Christ coming into the world. There are 14 generations from Abraham to David. Fourteen generations from David to the Babylonian captivity. Then another 14 generations from the Babylonian captivity to the birth of Jesus, Who came to "save His people from their sins". Fourteen stands for deliverance. Every fourteenth generation was a pivitol point in God's dealings with His people. Three, as you will recall, is for resurrection. With every major event of deliverance for the people of God, resurrection life--revival and restoration--was breathed into the situation by the Wind of the Spirit.
According to 1 Chronicles 25:4-6, Heman had 14 sons and three daughters. He was the king's "seer" of the words of the Lord, a "prophetic psalmist". Under his direction, he led them in anointed song in the house of the Lord, accompanied by musical instruments.
Israel was delivered from the plagues of Egypt on the fourteenth day. Three days later they passed through the Red Sea, a picture of the resurrection. On the other side, Miriam and the women sang, "The Lord is my strength and song, and He is become my salvation (my deliverance)". Exodus 15:1-2. In line with the Heman and the singers in the temple, they sang about salvation (14) and the hope of resurrection (three).
